Ilkley Forest School Cooperative are bringing a 2-day Holiday Forest Fun session for 5-12 year olds to Moorfield School on 24th & 25th August.

A Forest School programme will typically including games, craft activities, tool use, den-building and a campfire.

Another lovely ☀️ day of Forest Fun in Moorfield School’s wonderful outdoor space. Some of the children made beautiful peg dolls whilst others chose to create ‘gods eyes’, painted pebbles and even a broomstick. Lisa helped several children carve toadstools and Nell was on hand to assist with making and decorating paper cones for popcorn which all the children enjoyed eating in the afternoon. Jake was chief swing-pusher and helped with whittling and knife work.
So, after two amazing days, that’s a wrap for July and we look forward to our next Forest Fun sessions on Mon 24 & Tues 25 August when Miss Agi and Bea (Mrs Manville) will be back from their well-earned holidays with their families.🤗

It was great to be back today for Day 1 of our Summer Forest Fun sessions. It was a little chilly to start with but we soon warmed up with a few rounds of Sparrowhawk followed by everyone charging about trying out all the different activities! Pebble-painting and sword-making proved very popular, as did cooking ‘spaghetti’ in the mud kitchen, tug-o-war, swinging on the swing and hammock, and of course toasting marshmallows to make s’mores. Lovely to see some new faces making friends with our regular attendees. Looking forward to more ‘fun in the sun’ tomorrow.

Well, what beautiful weather we had for both days of our May half term Forest Fun this week. ☀️🌞It really couldn’t have been better! We introduced water play one day, making giant bubbles which everyone enjoyed. The children also were brilliant at making dens, painting stones, creating gods eyes, cooking (and eating!) pizzas and pancakes as well as chopping fruit to make delicious fruit juice to help us all stay hydrated. They even found space in their tummies for s’mores at the end. 😋 Hanging out with friends on the hammock, the swing and climbing frame were as popular as ever. We hope to welcome you back in the summer holidays and will announce the dates as soon as we know them ourselves. Enjoy the rest of this sunny week and thank you everyone for a wonderful couple of days. ❤️

🎉SAVE THE DATES!! 26 & 27 MAY🎉

After the success of our Easter Forest Fun in March when we were fully booked on both days, we have decided to offer two more fun-filled, action-packed days in May half term.

We have yet to plan our programme but it’ll definitely include cooking on the fire, games, craft, whittling, fire-lighting, ropes, climbing, swinging, relaxing in hammocks, hot chocolate and toasting marshmallows.

We’d love for you to join us! Spaces are limited so early booking is recommended to avoid missing out. 🙏

A wonderful second and MUCH drier day at our Easter Forest Fun holiday session at Moorfield School. Today was all about food! The day started with an egg hunt, we cooked banana pancakes after lunch and finished with S’mores. Archery, swinging in the hammock, decorating pebbles, playing in the mud kitchen, planting pansies, hide n seek, making swords, hanging out with friends….and suddenly it was 3pm and home time. Thank you all, we’ve loved the last two days. Happy Easter everyone! 🐣

It was Easter Forest Fun at Moorfield today. Lovely to be back on site and see everyone again. Lots of familiar faces and some new ones too. Agi, Bea, Lisa, Marianna and Pippa had plenty of help with peeling the potatoes and frying them up with freshly-picked wild garlic. Delicious! We also enjoyed the swing, the mud, the hammock, more mud, whittling, painting stones, making a broomstick, small fires, making swords, toast & jam, ‘toffee’ apples and ….playing on the mud slide. 😊 Finished up with hot choc and marshmallows. Looking forward to Cath joining us for loads more fun tomorrow!
