The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has recommended a new take-at-home treatment that could extend the lives of thousands of people with advanced prostate cancer who are unable to have chemotherapy or tolerate standard treatments.

This treatment involves a once-daily pill called talazoparib (Talzenna) taken alongside enzalutamide — giving patients a flexible, life-extending option they can take from the comfort of home. Early clinical trials show promising results, with increased survival and longer periods before disease progression.

The UK has lost its measles elimination status once again, according to new reports. This means measles — a highly contagious but vaccine-preventable illness — is now spreading at levels considered a public health concern.

Health experts warn that declining MMR vaccination rates have contributed to this change, increasing the risk of outbreaks, particularly among children and other vulnerable groups.
