Struggling with a stubborn verruca that just won’t go away? 🦶🦶

Verruca needling could be the treatment you’ve been looking for!!

Verruca needling is a minor procedure designed to stimulate your body’s own immune response👊 By carefully puncturing the verruca under local anaesthetic, the aim is to “wake up” the immune system so it recognizes and helps clear the virus causing the verruca. It’s often used for long-standing or resistant verrucas that haven’t responded to other treatments.

Every case is different, and we’ll always assess you first to make sure it’s the right option for your foot health needs👍

If you’re tired of dealing with pain or recurring verrucas, we’re here to help😄

Another fab training day in the books! 👣✨

We’ve now got two more podiatrists trained in nail reconstruction—woo!

Not sure what that is? Nail reconstruction is a clever treatment that restores the look of damaged, missing, or fungal nails, giving you a natural-looking nail again (hello sandal season 👡).

So if you’ve been hiding your toes… now’s your time to shine! ✨

Spring is finally here 🌸—and that means it’s time to give your feet a little extra care!

After months in boots and thick socks, your feet may be dealing with dryness, cracked heels, or hidden fungal issues. As you switch into lighter footwear, don’t ignore what your feet are telling you.

👣 Quick spring foot care tips:
• Moisturise daily to repair dry winter skin
• Check for any nail changes or discolouration
• Ease into open shoes to avoid irritation
• Don’t ignore persistent pain—it's not “normal”

Healthy feet keep you moving comfortably into the new season. If something doesn’t feel right, it’s always best to get it checked early.

Step into spring feeling your best! 🌿

Foot pain isn’t something you should ignore.

Our HCPC-registered podiatrists at our clinics can help diagnose and treat the problem early — before it gets worse.

🦶 Diabetes & Foot Care: What to Check Every Day

If you have diabetes, checking your feet daily can help prevent serious problems before they start.

Here’s what to look out for 👇

🔍 1. Cuts or sores
Even small wounds can take longer to heal and may become infected.

🔴 2. Redness or swelling
This could be a sign of irritation, pressure, or infection.

🟡 3. Changes in skin colour or temperature
Hot or cold spots may indicate circulation or nerve issues.

🦠 4. Cracked skin or dry heels
These can lead to infections if left untreated.

🦶 5. Changes in nails
Look for thickening, discolouration, or signs of ingrown toenails.

⚡ 6. Numbness or tingling
This may be a sign of nerve damage.

✅ Top Tip:
Check your feet after bathing, and don’t forget the soles and between your toes.

If you notice anything unusual, it’s always best to get it checked early.

👣 Heel Pain This Summer? It Could Be Plantar Fasciitis 🌞

If you’re waking up with sharp heel pain or discomfort after long walks, you might be dealing with plantar fasciitis — one of the most common foot conditions we treat as podiatrists.

👩‍⚕️ How we help:
A podiatrist can assess your foot mechanics, provide tailored treatment (like stretching plans, orthotics, or shockwave therapy), and help reduce inflammation so you can get back to moving comfortably.

👡 Prevention starts with your footwear — especially in summer!

While flip-flops and flat sandals are tempting in warm weather, they often lack the support your feet need. Poor footwear can strain the plantar fascia and worsen symptoms.

✔️ What to look for in good summer footwear:

Arch support – Helps distribute pressure evenly
Cushioned sole – Absorbs shock when walking
Firm heel counter – Keeps your foot stable
Slight heel elevation – Reduces strain on the fascia
Adjustable straps – Ensures a secure fit

🚫 Try to avoid:

Completely flat sandals
Thin soles with no cushioning
Worn-out trainers or flip-flops

👟 Better sandal choices:
Look for brands or styles designed with built-in arch support and structured soles (often labelled “orthotic-friendly” or “supportive sandals”). These can make a big difference in preventing flare-ups.

💡 Top tip: If you already have plantar fasciitis, don’t go barefoot at home — supportive slippers or indoor shoes can help keep your recovery on track.

💡 Book in today at www.thefootcompany.co.uk for our podiatrist to help you!

Your feet carry you all summer long — give them the support they deserve! 🌿
