💙 Carers Week 2026 in Somerset 💙

This Carers Week, we are celebrating and recognising the vital contribution of unpaid carers across Somerset.

Caring for someone can be rewarding — and it can also be tiring, isolating and relentless.

Every day, carers provide invaluable support to family members, friends, and neighbours who need help due to illness, disability, mental health challenges, or age-related conditions. Their dedication helps people remain independent, connected, and cared for within their communities.

Carers are at the heart of Somerset's communities, often balancing caring responsibilities alongside work, education, and family life. This week is an opportunity to acknowledge their commitment, raise awareness of the challenges they face, and ensure they know that support is available.

During this week Somerset Carers (part of Thrive) is inviting unpaid carers across Somerset to take some time just for you.

We’re hosting a range of free activities where you can relax, try something new, and meet other carers who understand what caring life is like. For more information go to https://somersetcarers.org/

To all carers across Somerset: thank you for everything you do. Your compassion, strength, and resilience make a difference every day.

💙

Who cares for the carers? We do. Caring for another person is very rewarding, but can be overwhelming and lonely at times. Who can use the service? You can receive support from Somerset Carers for free if are over 18 and you look after someone in an ‘unpaid’ caring capacity (not employed or self...
