What I love most about working in the spa and salon industry is spending a day in a spa myself and being reminded just how important it is to make people feel like the most important person in the world, even if only for a few hours.

This industry is about far more than hair, beauty or skin treatments. At its very best, it has the ability to completely change how someone feels about themselves. To help them switch off. To breathe. To feel cared for. To walk out standing taller than when they walked in.

Very few careers have the privilege of impacting people in such a positive way. Behind every appointment is often a woman carrying stress, pressure, exhaustion, grief, overwhelm or simply the weight of life. Sometimes what looks like “just a facial” or “just having their hair done” is actually therapy, confidence rebuilding and human connection all rolled into one.

Never underestimate the power of making someone feel seen, valued and important. That is the real luxury.
