ROSS
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mum, Mabel Ross, formally of Sea Lock, Clachnaharry on 8th July 2026. She was a much-loved wife, mum, granny, sister, aunt and friend whose kindness and love touched the lives of so many. Mabel was well known for her work in the community and as the wee lady who lived at the end of the canal. She could be found chatting with dog walkers, boat people and passers-by on a daily basis. Mabel was best known as a founding member and librarian of the Highland Mobile Toy Library. She was often seen driving a van full of toys all across the Highlands and was affectionately known as “The Toy Lady” by many of the children. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday 6th August at 12.30pm in the Funeral Home of John Fraser & Son, Chapel Street, Inverness; thereafter interment at Kilvean Cemetery. All will be made very welcome. Flowers are welcome or donations to Alzheimer’s Scotland or The Haven Centre. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. Our family are grateful for all the kind messages and memories shared with us in recent days. Car parking available at the Funeral Home. Livestreaming via www.johnfraserandson.com/live-services
