š” When you start decluttering, not everyone around you will love it.
One thing Iāve noticed after supporting lots of clients is that decluttering doesnāt just affect the person doing it.
Sometimes partners, adult children, parents or friends can feel uncomfortable too.
Not because theyāre against you getting organised.
But because clutter is rarely just about stuff.
It can represent memories, habits, routines, identity, security, grief or things weāve been avoiding for a long time.
So when one person starts making changes, it can sometimes make others feel unsettled.
Iāve seen clients transform their homes and feel lighter, calmer and more in control of their lives.
And Iāve also seen family members need a bit of time to adjust to those changes.
Thatās completely normal.
If youāre decluttering and someone close to you seems resistant, it doesnāt necessarily mean youāre doing the wrong thing.
Keep focusing on what matters to you.
Often the greatest changes arenāt the tidy cupboards or organised drawers.
Itās the confidence, calm and sense of freedom that starts to shine through. š§”
Have you ever noticed this in your own home?
