☀️🐾 Too Hot for Walkies? Let’s Get Creative! 🐾☀️
With temperatures on the rise, it’s important to remember that our dogs can quickly overheat, and pavements can become far too hot for sensitive paws.
If it’s too warm for your usual walks, don’t worry—there are plenty of ways to keep your dog mentally stimulated and entertained at home!
🐶 Try some fun enrichment activities:
🔹 Scatter feeding in the garden or around the house
🔹 Snuffle mats and lick mats
🔹 Hide-and-seek with treats or favourite toys
🔹 Puzzle feeders and interactive toys
🔹 “Find It” scent games
🔹 Frozen treats to keep them cool and occupied
🔹 Practising basic training and learning new tricks
Mental exercise can be just as tiring as physical exercise and is a fantastic way to keep your dog happy when outdoor adventures need to be limited.
For dogs undergoing rehabilitation or those with mobility concerns, enrichment games are also a great way to provide stimulation without placing extra strain on joints and muscles.
Stay safe, stay cool, and don’t forget plenty of fresh water and a shady spot for your four-legged friends. 💙
