💙 Golden Days Café – Friendship, Fun and Fantastic Memories 💙

At Baylham Care Home, we know how important it is to stay connected with the local community and enjoy meaningful experiences together.

One place that's become a firm favourite is The Golden Days Café at Ipswich Town Football Club. Held twice a month, the café offers a warm and welcoming space for people living with dementia and their loved ones to come together, socialise and have fun.

One of our regular visitors, Phil, has been attending with his wife, sister and brother-in-law since October 2024. From exploring Ipswich Town memorabilia and hearing stories from former players, to singing, crafts, chair exercises, games and visits from local schoolchildren, every session brings something different to enjoy.

"It's a very welcoming environment where everyone is encouraged to chat, make friends and enjoy time together," says Phil's wife, Jan.

With a delicious light lunch included and plenty of laughter along the way, it's easy to see why Phil looks forward to every visit.

A huge thank you to everyone at Ipswich Town Football Club for creating such a wonderful community initiative that makes a real difference to people living with dementia and their families. ⚽

Last week at Baylham Care Home, we were delighted to welcome the children from Morland School as we celebrated National Picnic Day together.

Our gardens were filled with laughter and smiles as the people we support and the children enjoyed spending time together, taking part in garden games, blowing bubbles, and creating wonderful memories. Intergenerational activities like these are incredibly important, helping to build meaningful connections between different generations and strengthening our links with the wider community.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious picnic prepared by our fantastic kitchen team, with sandwiches, crisps, fruit, and cake making the afternoon even more special.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the children and staff from Morland School for visiting us. The children were exceptionally polite, kind, and well behaved, and it was a pleasure to have them spend time with the people we support. The school also shared how much the children enjoyed their visit, which is wonderful to hear.

At Baylham Care Home, maintaining strong connections with our local community is incredibly important for the people we support. Visits like these help reduce isolation, encourage conversation, bring joy, and create lasting relationships that benefit both the people we support and the younger generation.

We are already looking forward to welcoming our friends from Morland School back for another visit very soon. 💙

Wow, what an amazing day we had at Needham Lake! 🌞🦆

Excitement filled the air as we boarded the minibus, with everyone in great spirits and ready for a lovely day out together.

When we arrived, we stopped for a cuppa and a chat while taking in the beautiful scenery and enjoying the fresh air. Before setting off on our walk, we tucked into a delicious picnic filled with sandwiches, cakes, donuts, and fresh fruit — a real treat for everyone! 🧺🍰🍓

As we wandered around the lake, we spotted lots of wonderful wildlife including ducks, geese, swans, and even tiny cygnets. It was lovely to see so much nature up close and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. 🦢🌿

To round off the day, we enjoyed some garden games, plenty of laughter, and lots of smiles — the perfect ending to a fantastic outing together. 💚

Your compassion, dedication, professionalism, and kindness make a difference every single day. From providing exceptional care and support to bringing comfort and reassurance to residents and families, your hard work never goes unnoticed.

We are so proud of the amazing nursing teams who go above and beyond to deliver person-centred care with dignity, respect, and warmth.

💖 Spreading the Love at Baylham Care Home 💖

What a wonderful day we had on Saturday 14th February as we celebrated Valentine’s with our “Spreading the Love” coffee morning here at Baylham!

It was fantastic to see so many of our lovely residents, families and friends come together to enjoy a morning filled with laughter, treats and great company.

Our incredibly talented chef, Ricky, treated us to a delicious selection of homemade cakes and desserts – and they certainly didn’t disappoint! 🍰☕

The highlight of the morning had to be our fun game, “Break My Heart” ❤️ Residents and families chose a cup and poked through the tissue to reveal a surprise prize, challenge or question. There were chocolates, teddies, smellies and lots, lots more – and plenty of smiles all around!

Thank you to everyone who came along and made the morning so special. The feedback has been fantastic, and we’re so grateful for the continued support from our Baylham family.
