love being given the opportunity to explain how effective hypnotherapy is for Irritable Bowel Syndrome. (IBS)

Clinically endorsed by both the NHS and N.I.C.E. (National Institute of Clinical Evidence) as being one of the most effective methods of reducing or eliminating symptoms.

No longer considered a digestive disorder, it has recently been recognised as a mind/gut disorder which explains why diet and medication alone do not work.

The mind and body do not work in isolation they work together . Hypnotherapy works on the cause rather than the symptoms so the symptoms have no need to continue .

People talk about their world shrinking because they’re scared to leave the house in case they have a flare up. They’ve lost trust in themselves and their bodies. Fear takes over and the body reacts. It goes around in a loop.

If you or anyone you know is suffering from this, please get them to get in touch . A 5 session programme to get your life back. Imagine what that would do for you?

No it’s not a parable from the Bible but it’s still a good one!

Imagine you’re rowing across the sea and a boat crashes into you . You look up, ready to snap …but the boat is empty . No one was steering. There’s no one to get angry at or to blame.

Your anger has nowhere to go so it disappears, maybe replaced by curiosity. Nothing about the crash changed . It happened. But something changed …

What did? Whether you thought someone meant it.

It’s a pattern you’ve developed assuming every boat has someone steering straight at you . The work colleague who is a bit short with you , the message that feels off. Your mind doesn’t just notice what happens, it fills in the blanks.”He’s annoyed with me, I’ve upset her’.

The pattern is the same: scam for danger, assume it’s about you, take it personally.

So much of the time the boat is effectively empty . There’s no one steering it at you . The work colleague was having a bad day, the message sender was caught up in their own stuff. Often you end up spending so much energy mind-reading people who are not thinking about you at all.

And if they are thinking badly of you, ask why, apologise if it’s genuinely needed or let it go because it’s their issue not yours.

Love this take on mistakes …

Perfectionism, fear of making mistakes, fear of not being good enough are all things I am regularly asked to help people overcome.

We learn more through making mistakes than we ever do when things are going smoothly. It may not be the most fun way to learn but we do learn and grow from that .

The fear of making mistakes usually stems from a time that when we did make a mistake, we were criticised or made to feel ‘less than’ and we didn’t like that and it turned into a fear. And then ran on a loop in the background. Consciously you know it’s ok to make a mistake, logically you can see that but it’s just when that moment comes up, something older and faster takes over and all you can feel is fear .

It’s that underlying pattern/programme we change . No baby was born fearing making mistakes. Think of how many times a toddler falls over when they are learning to walk. No toddler thinks that because they’ve made a mistake and lost their balance they’re never going to try to walk again. If they did they’d be a lot of adults shuffling on bottoms or crawling around !

So give yourself a gift and let’s work together to take away that fear. Imagine how your life would open up and imagine the freedom that would bring .

What a lovely start to the week.

Asking for help is the bravest thing you can do. So often you can shrug things off with a ‘I’m fine’ response but things build up and suddenly you’re not. It doesn’t have to be big dramatic things, sometimes it is, but often it’s a build up of life stresses that on their own would probably be ok but coming together over a short space of time, they can knock you off balance . You may start snapping at people, start having disrupted sleep, a knot in your stomach about things that you used to find ok.

Recognising that and asking for help before you get into burnout, stress and overwhelm is the kindest and bravest thing you can do, for yourself and for others whom you love.

If you’re struggling, please reach out and let’s chat about how I can help. Give yourself that gift and act now before it all becomes too big and feels too overwhelming.

So often we look for happiness outside of us but the truth is it is homemade, it starts within.

People, places, things can all make you happy, but true happiness is peace within, when the internal fight and negativity settles. When you make the peace with the past and accept the future, the internal conflict dissolves.

However much you may regret things you have said or done, can change that.
However much you feel guilty about things you have said and done can change that.
However much you worry about the future can change what happens.
However much you try to control, it’s exhausting and doesn’t change what happens.

It may just be a sign on a wall I’ve seen on holiday , but it’s true .

Give me a call and let’s chat about how I can help you let go of the past instead of carrying it all around. It’s heavy and exhausting and let’s find that peace within instead.

Beautiful flowers and card given to me today by a grateful client who said not only had they ‘got their life back’ but also the changes they had made had such a positive impact on every family member.

That’s the thing…once you change, everything around you changes. You never know how far a change will go.

People often ask me to fix them but you see they’re not broken. Life, people, circumstances have thrown some things at them and made them feel not the greatest .

People often ask me to wave a magic wand but I don’t have one. But I can help you find your own magic wand to wave.

Look what happens when you do! Always so proud of the people I work with. Always grateful they find the time to leave a review because their experience gives others hope that things can change for them. Always grateful I have the skills to help.

After all the rain on Thursday, the lane flooded. Delilah the horse wasn’t keen on going through at first. She stopped, she looked, she was convinced it was at least 6 ft deep and that she’d be swallowed up never to be seen again!

After some persuasion she stepped forward only to realise it was in fact only a few inches deep. She was safe, phew.

How many times do you convince yourself that something is ‘deeper’ than it really is? It grows so big in your mind that like the flood there, you think it’s bottomless, when in fact it’s only a few inches deep.

Living with anxiety can feel just like that, everything feels ‘deep’, scary, you’re always in high alert, racing thoughts, disrupted sleep.

This is what I help people overcome every day. Overcoming the irrational and unnecessary stuff so your mind can settle, so you can find that peace and calm inside.

If every problem seems so big in your mind, give me a call and let’s chat about how I can help.
