& Ipswich Hospitals Charity, we aim to help provide you, your friends, your family and neighbours the highest quality, safe, and compassionate care. Through the support of our donors, we
• purchase patient comforts, such as equipment, toys and books;
• fund improvements to the hospital environment to make it more welcoming to patients;
• provide facilities for patient family members, such as a parent room on the Neonatal Unit;
• fund state-of-the-art equipment;
• contribute to clinical research;
• help staff to keep their skills and knowledge up to date; and
• support staff welfare.

We’re so excited to be joining Invasion Colchester when it returns to the city centre on Saturday 5 September! 🌟

There is so much to see and do throughout the day, including:

⚔️ Lightsaber workshops
🤼 Wrestling demonstrations
🏆 Fancy dress competition
🦸 Amazing costumes and characters
⭐ Special guests
🎶 Live music
🚗 Famous vehicles from the world of TV and film

We’re incredibly proud to be one of the three charities supported by Invasion Colchester, and we want to say a big thank you to everyone involved in organising and delivering this incredible event 💙

So much time, energy and passion goes into making Invasion Colchester such a fantastic day for the city, while also helping to support local charities like ours and we’re hugely grateful to be part of it.

A new garden space for our Breast Unit🌸

Our wonderful volunteers have been busy creating a beautiful garden in the green space at the Breast Unit at Colchester Hospital.

The garden now features plants from where the Colchester Wellbeing Garden was represented as a Cube Garden at the RHS Sandringham Show, made possible thanks to a £3,000 RHS Shows grant. This garden also includes a beautiful mosaic sculpture made by staff members, relocated to create a focal point in the space.

Although underground services meant we couldn't plant the planned multi-stemmed tree here, we're pleased to say it has found a new home in the Wellbeing Garden, replacing a tree that sadly died. 🌳

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped bring this garden to life. Spaces like this can provide a moment of calm, comfort and connection during what can be a difficult time.

RCCR Charitable Ride returns for 2026! 🏍️🏍️

Get ready to ride for a reason as the RCCR Charitable Ride returns for another fantastic year of fundraising and community spirit.

Riders will set off from Maitland Road, Needham Market, following a scenic route through the Suffolk countryside, with a halfway stop at Bentwaters Park, before continuing on to the finish at Leiston Social Club.

The route will take riders through locations including Stonham Aspal, Framlingham, Campsea Ashe, Tunstall, Snape and Aldringham, all while helping to raise vital funds for a great cause, the Woolverstone Centre at Ipswich Hospital 💙

The route map is now available, so take a look, share it with your fellow riders or capture a picture of the riders along the route.

Celebrate with us our incredible Time Garden Appeal supporter Ashwin 💙

We’re delighted to celebrate Ashwin Bhatt and the team at Rainbow Pharmacy, whose support for our Time Garden Appeal has raised an amazing £2,913.64.

Ashwin took on our 135ft Extreme Abseil at Ipswich Hospital in memory of his much-loved grandmother, bravely stepping over the edge to help us create something special for patients facing end-of-life, and their families.

And there’s even more to celebrate! 🌈 Rainbow Pharmacy were recently awarded Highly Commended at the 2026 Recognition of Excellence Awards, recognising their contribution to the local community. A fantastic achievement for a team that has shown such wonderful support for its local community and our hospital.

And there’s even more to celebrate! 🎉 Sharon Lucas, an Accuracy Checking Technician at Rainbow Pharmacy, has been nominated for Community Pharmacy Technician of the Year in the international pharmacy awards.

💙 The Case is Altered fundraising total reaches £4,528! 💙

We’re delighted to share another fantastic update from our Charity of the Year supporters at The Case is Altered, who are raising funds for the Diabetes and Endocrine Centre at Ipswich Hospital.

Since beginning their fundraising in April, the community-run pub and its brilliant supporters have now raised an incredible £4,528.43 through quiz nights, raffles, an afternoon tea and other community events.

The team said they have been "overwhelmed by the support of the community", and it’s wonderful to see so many people getting behind a cause that is particularly close to their hearts.

And they’re not finished yet! There are more quiz nights planned for the last Saturday of each month, and more planned in the run-up to Christmas.

Funds raised will help support the Diabetes and Endocrine Centre at Ipswich Hospital and enhance the care provided to local patients.

A huge thank you to everyone at The Case is Altered, their volunteers, customers and the wider Bentley community for continuing to make this Charity of the Year partnership such a success. 💙
