A hesitation I hear about therapy is that people think they need to know exactly what they want to talk about, what symptoms they have, what they think they need...
But the reality is, therapy doesnât require that of you. Many people come to therapy because they DONâT know what they need to talk about!
They know something doesnât feel quite right, but not sure what.
They know theyâre overthinking more than theyâd like, but canât stop for some reason.
They know theyâre exhausted from holding everything together, but keep trying anyway.
They know they donât feel like themselves anymore, but they canât neatly explain why.
And thatâs actually sometimes the point...you donât need to organise your thoughts before coming to therapy đ§©
You donât need a perfectly rehearsed explanation, one obvious problem, or a clear starting point.
Part of my role as a therapist is helping you make sense of whatâs been feeling messy đ
Together, weâll begin to understand the patterns, identify whatâs keeping things going, and work out where youâd like things to be different.
You donât need to have all the answers before you reach out, sometimes figuring it all out is where therapy đ
