Did you know yesterday was National Fudge Day? Well, we certainly did at Thurleston House! 🍬

Our wonderful residents were busy crafting our very own delicious sweet treat - classic vanilla fudge. The room was filled with laughter, lovely aromas, and a touch of nostalgia as we stirred, tasted, and shared memories along the way.

Safe to say, it went down a storm… and there wasn’t much left by the end! 👀

What a fantastic day at Thurleston House! ☀️🍔🎉

This past Saturday, we hosted our Family BBQ and it truly was a wonderful celebration. We were delighted by such a great turnout, with residents, families, loved ones, and our dedicated staff all coming together to enjoy the occasion.
There was nothing better than spending time together in the fresh air, sharing laughter, stories, and plenty of delicious BBQ food expertly cooked and thoroughly enjoyed by all! 🌭🔥

We’re also incredibly proud to share that we raised £160 for our residents’ fund, which will go towards activities and experiences for everyone to enjoy. 💛

A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day so special. 👏🏻

A Day Shaped by Our Residents 💚🌼

Today at Thurleston House, our one-to-one wellbeing activities were all about celebrating choice, independence, and the little things that bring joy.

We enjoyed:

🌱 Potting plants with Lee-Ann
🎯 Fun floor games with Iris L
💅 Pamper sessions with freshly painted nails for Gillian, Peggy, Sheila, and Pauline

Every activity was led by what our residents wanted to do, making the day truly personal and meaningful. It’s these moments that make Thurleston House feel like home 💛

Today at Thurleston House, we said a heartfelt farewell to Care Assistant Maria 💐

After an incredible 11 years of dedicated service, Maria is beginning an exciting new chapter as a Receptionist. Throughout her time with us, Maria has shown unwavering compassion, kindness, and commitment to both our residents and her colleagues. She has made a lasting impact on so many and will be deeply missed. 🥰

Thank you, Maria, for everything you have given to Thurleston House. We wish you every success and happiness in your new role 💛

✨ Fun & Fitness at Thurleston House! ✨

We loved welcoming Julie from Gfitness for a fantastic armchair exercise session! 💪😊

Residents enjoyed a range of activities including gentle stretches, ball games, and coordination exercises all set to favourite tunes from the likes of ABBA and more creating a fun, upbeat atmosphere filled with smiles and laughter 🥰

A big thank you to Julie for such an energising and enjoyable session — we loved it so much we have booked monthly sessions and can’t wait for the next one! 👏

🌟 A Meaningful and Active Day at Thurleston House 🌟

Our residents have enjoyed a wonderfully busy and reflective day here at Thurleston House… This morning, we came together for a special reminiscence session, listening to timeless wartime songs and watching the news coverage of the D-Day commemorations. 🎶

This afternoon, the energy continued with some fun and laughter as we took part in floor games and a lively balloon throw session. The room was filled with smiles, teamwork, and plenty of good cheer! 🎈

🧀🍷 A Cheesy Celebration at Thurleston House! 🍷🧀

Although National Cheese Day was on Wednesday, we couldn’t miss the chance to celebrate so today we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of cheese and wine!

Our residents tucked into a delicious selection of cheeses paired with a glass of wine, creating a relaxed, sociable atmosphere filled with laughter and great conversation.

A perfect way to enjoy the simple pleasures and spend quality time together! 🥰

🪴 Our Beautiful Garden Day Event 🌞

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Family Garden Day yesterday! It was such a lovely day, filled with sunshine, smiles, and plenty of spirit.

We’re so grateful to all those who supported us, whether you rolled up your sleeves to help with the gardening, kindly donated plants, or simply came along to enjoy the day with us. Your contributions made a real difference and helped create a beautiful space for everyone to enjoy. 🌸

Our residents had a fantastic time getting involved, staying cool with delicious fruity cocktails and refreshing ice lollies, and soaking up the atmosphere. The bubble machine was certainly a highlight too, adding an extra touch of fun and laughter throughout the day! 🫧

🍫 Let’s get baking! 🍫

Yesterday we enjoyed another wonderful baking session with Liz and this time it was all about making delicious Rocky Road! 😍

There was plenty of mixing, melting and of course a few sneaky tastes along the way… all finished off with some very tasty results! 🍪✨

As always, lots of laughter, teamwork, and sweet treats made for a fantastic afternoon. We’re already looking forward to the next one! 💛

🇬🇧 VE Day Celebrations 🇬🇧

What a truly special and heart‑warming day as we came together to honour VE Day ✨

We enjoyed a delicious classic British buffet, beautifully themed decorations, and plenty of wartime wordsearches and games, sparking wonderful conversations and moments of reminiscence. 💭❤️

The celebrations were perfectly topped off with a fantastic live performance by Manda Bulow‑Osborne, who treated us to a wonderful set of much‑loved classics from over the years, including songs by Vera Lynn that brought back so many memories. 🎶🌹

A joyful day of remembrance, togetherness and music thank you to everyone who helped make it so special. 💙✨
