Emberiza Mini's

Emberiza Mini's My name is Kerry Bunting and I am the owner and first aid trainer at Emberiza Mini's. My next goal is to add Pet First Aid to the list!

Emberiza Mini’s was created to make first aid accessible to everyone 💛

We offer small, friendly, community-focused classes at an affordable rate, helping people feel confident to act when it matters most🫶🏼 Our family business began in 2018 when my dad, Keith Bunting, founded Keith Bunting Social Care. After several years of steady growth—and navigating the challenges of COVID—the company began to

expand into new areas. After completing two years of college studying Forensics, and following the birth of my daughter, I made the decision to join the family business. I built our first website and began supporting the company while starting university, where I am now in my third year of a four-year degree in Health Care with Health Sciences. As our roles within the business grew, we rebranded to Emberiza Training Services Ltd to reflect our family’s shared involvement. “Emberiza” comes from the genus of birds known as the “Bunting ” a fitting tribute to our family name. In 2025, after working in administration for several years, I decided to take the next step and train as an instructor. I enrolled on my Award in Education and Training, completed the required assignments and preparation, and by December 2025 I became a qualified First Aid, Paediatric First Aid, and AED instructor. I created Emberiza Mini’s to continue working within the family brand while offering something more focused on the community: affordable family first aid classes. My aim is to provide small, friendly, local sessions that make essential first aid skills accessible to everyone—without breaking the bank.

Yesterday was something Close to our hearts❤️

We attended the Hope to Connect event yesterday at Trinity Park. And This was even more special to us than when we first signed up!

Sadly on Wednesday we lost my grandad (our biggest supporter) after a short battle with Lung Cancer. After being diagnosed on the 20th of March after a long hospital stay with was they thought was pneumonia we started making plans and got him home. Sadly his fight was short and he took his last breathe with all of us around him at 1:35am🪽

We instantly knew we had to work even harder to raise money on Saturday and with our competition managed to raise £50.

We hoped to get more but the weather wasn’t on our side and we had to leave after the record attempt dui g to the wind. But it was a good day

Bump bear (spoiler of the name!) even met a friend!

We were pleased we could attend an event and our next challenge is going to be working to raise as much money as we can for St Elizabeth’s Hospice who helped car for grandad in his short time he had at home❤️

We’ve heard your feedback 👇

Thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to share their thoughts after attending our courses — we really do listen and take it on board 💬

Here are a few key points we wanted to address:

• Why do we cover adult CPR in a paediatric course?
We’ve had a few questions about this. Current Resuscitation Council guidance advises covering infants, children and adolescents. Because adolescent care is very similar to adult care, this is always included. For example, a 16-year-old may still be classed as a child but often requires adult-style CPR (two-handed compressions).

• Course length & content
Our course was built following extensive research into what people want from paediatric first aid. The content of our courses are always listed when advertised and when booking. That said, we know everyone is different — if you’d prefer shorter, more focused sessions, let us know and we can look at creating these 🙌

• Why do sessions sometimes run over?
We always say 3 hours is a guide. Questions, discussions and longer breaks out of my control do happen, so sessions can run a little longer — we’d rather you leave confident than rushed.

• Slides & equipment
We’re working on improving this where we can. Venues do vary, and sometimes equipment (like heavier projector screens) isn’t suitable — for example on soft flooring where it could cause damage — so we’re not always able to use it. sometimes I do not know this until I arrive on the day.

Moving forward...
We’re always looking to improve and give you the most practical, confidence-building training possible ❤️

If there’s something you’d like to see before booking, just reach out — we’d love to hear from you.
