The Tree That Holds the Ancestors

She sat beneath the great remembering tree,
where roots drank from the dark earth
and branches touched the sleeping stars.
No face was needed in that sacred place,
only breath, stillness, and an open heart.
The night gathered softly around her,
like a blanket woven by unseen hands.

In the bark, old faces rose and faded,
not ghosts, but guardians of the circle.
They watched from leaves of moonlight,
from blue shadows and silver mist,
speaking without sound:
Child, you are not alone here.

So she placed her grief beside the roots,
and let the tree carry what she could not.
The wind moved through its ancient patterns,
teaching her that healing is slow,
that memory is holy,
and every soul who loves the earth
is held forever in its arms.
