Established in 2023, Kirk Road Eye Care is an independent optometry practice located in the village of Houston, Renfrewshire.

It’s important to know that looking directly at the sun can cause serious damage to your eyes. Ordinary sunglasses don't provide enough protection, and viewing the eclipse through binoculars, a camera, or a telescope still puts you at risk. 👁️

Did you know we offered the following services❓

Many patients have been surprised and impressed by the range of services we offer. In addition to the standard range of NHS examinations we also offer;
* Audiology- including ear wax removal and hearing aid fitting.
* Home visits (for eyes and ears) - paid for by the NHS (if you are eligible)
* NHS enhanced examinations for emergency and complex eye problems; we are able to manage most eye conditions in the community avoiding referral.
* Contact lenses including specialist cosmetic lenses and rigid gas permeable.
* Night lenses (orthokeratology) for myopia and myopia management.
* Myopia management through spectacles, contact lenses or atropine drops.
* Photobiomodulation therapy (EyeLight) for blepharitis, rosacea, chronic styes and dry macular degeneration.
* NHS Community Glaucoma Service; both Neil and Johnathan have undergone additional training to manage patients discharged from ophthalmology.
* ReadEZ coloured overlays and spectacle tints for reading difficulties (visual stress)
* Advanced ophthalmic imaging including OCT, topography and biometry.

Don't forget to have your eyes checked at least every 2 years (or annually if under 16 or over 60).
