I’ve spent a lot of this week getting ready to teach my crystals training course. It’s reminded me just how much work actually goes into being a teacher trainer. It’s not just turning up and teaching for a couple of days.

There are hours spent writing the course in the first place, putting the manuals together, creating slideshows, planning the practical work, printing everything, sorting folders, worksheets and certificates, and purchasing all the equipment and materials everyone is going to need.

When I actually add up the hours and the cost of producing some of my courses, I probably haven’t charged enough for them over the years 🤦🏻‍♀️ Ink and printing alone isn’t cheap, then there are folders, stationery, equipment, resources and all the other bits needed to make sure people have something substantial to take away with them.

Preparing for this weekends course has made me think about the work other professional teachers put into their courses, what my professors will put into mine. It’s made me realise you absolutely get what you pay for when it comes to a professional qualification.

There’s been a huge amount of work, time and money and love poured into my courses over the years, but I’ve loved teaching them and I’m really proud of what I’ve created.

My next course is the women’s circle training on 21st and 22nd November. If you’d like more details (and a complete bargain) drop me a message 🙏

Something new is coming to Moonstone this winter✨

Nic and I have been gathering, rummaging, planning and putting together an idea that’s a little bit different from anything we’ve done before, and anything else that’s out there

Think winter. Think Yule. Think getting creative.

More coming soon 💫

Over the last few weeks we’ve had a few people asking to come and shop with us, or making a trip to shop with us. We closed our shop in December 2024 and made the decision to teach classes, courses and workshops across the building.

We have changed everything we can online and there is a sign on the door.

We know this is disappointing, but it’s been nearly two years and it’s kind of baffling my brain.

We do hold monthly coffee days where we have a small amount of crystals and incense that can be purchased. Our next coffee day is 26th September and can be booked here https://bookwhen.com/wellbeinggroup?start=2026-09-26T00%3A00%3A00.000%2B01%3A00 =ev-s8n1m-20260926110000

I’ve been teaching yoga for a long time now, I’ve taught hundreds of people, but those years have also taught me. Every time I teach I learn too 🙏

Years of working with different people and different bodies gives you something you simply can’t get from your anatomy books on your teacher training. I’ve taught people with dodgy knees, knee replacements, stiff hips, hip replacements, bad backs, old injuries, new injuries and even a broken thoracic spine.
No two bodies look the same way in a yoga pose. There is no such thing as the perfect pose or perfect alignment.

My own body has taught me a lot too. I’m hypermobile, so I’ve had to learn not to push further just because my body can. I’ve had my own injuries over the years and had to learn how to adapt my practice, build strength and stop automatically hyperextending (you hear me say this a lot in class because I see you with your contortionist arms that are going to end up sore)

All of that comes into how I teach today. It’s very different from when I first stepped on the mat and it’s something only experience brings.

My classes aren’t about being the bendiest person in the room or getting yourself into the most impressive version of a pose. Sometimes doing less is actually the harder and more useful work. There are always options. You don’t have to be flexible. You don’t have to know what you’re doing. And you definitely don’t need to be “good at yoga” before you start.

We move, breathe, strengthen, stretch, sometimes wobble, sometimes laugh, some people have a little wind 🙈 and we always make time for proper relaxation at the end.

My experience has given me the confidence to teach people who might be a little bit broken both physically and mentally, rather than expecting their body to fit the pose

🍂 Mabon Crystal Circle 🍂

My September Crystal Circle falls around the Autumn Equinox, so this month we’ll be exploring Mabon, the turning of the season where day and night briefly come back into balance. We’ll be working with three earthy crystals, their properties and how we can work with them at this time of year.

There’ll be meditation, a little seasonal magic, time to slow down and connect with the crystals, and of course you’ll take your crystals home with you afterwards.

Monday 14th September
7.15pm to 8.45pm

Happy Sunday everyone ☕️🍂

I was scrolling last night and came across a post that really resonated with me. These are not my words they’re from another business :

5 things no one tells you about being a business owner
1. Your business will expose every unhealed wound you’ll ever have. It’s not a career. It’s a mirror.
2. You will pour everything into people who will leave.
3. The version of you who started the business has to die for the business to keep growing.
4. Most people think they’re building a company. They’re building a reputation
5. You will by misunderstood, gossiped about and underestimated by people who watched you up close.
Build it anyway

I would also add this:
6. Your empathic heart will win over your intuition. Don’t allow it to.
7. People will mimic what you do. They can never do it like you because they didn’t have their own seed of inspiration. That said - protect your work

This post sat with me last night and still does this morning. The more the years have passed the more I can look back and see every single element 💫
