Looking for ways to get active but not sure where to start. We have a seated tai chi session at Cardigan House .

Tai chi is a traditional chinese exercise, which is relaxing and can help with many health conditions such as hip and knee arthritis, fibromyalgia and other chronic pain conditions.

We call it 'seated' but you are welcome to stand using support for part or all of the session. We encourage you to do as much or as little as you want in the session to make sure you do what is right for your level of pain or fatigue.

For more information get in touch email us at [email protected]

Feel free to drop in for a chat before the session starts at 11.30 am Tuesdays, Cardigan House, Bingley.

We look forward to seeing you.

Looking forward to joining the Eco Fest this year. We will with lots of other great organisations providing free activities through the day. We look forward to seeing you there.

We are passionate about helping people respond to the current environmental emergency in positive and creative ways. 🌎

It can be difficult to know what we can do individually to help the planet, as the scale of the climate crisis can often be overwhelming. The idea is that photography & art can play their part in inspiring us to be more eco-friendly. 🌿

Creative Earth Eco Fest is produced by Photo Hub North CIC and Impressions Gallery, part of our 'Summer of Sustainability'

The programme has been informed by wonderful conversations with local people of all ages, and chats with photographers and artists. Watch this space for more information and the programme reveal 👀

Made possible with funding from Arts Council England and , and support from Bradford Council

Have you been curious about adding tai chi in your setting but felt that you didn't have time to learn something new?

Time and again we hear from our participants that the benefits don't come from a complicated movement or a long sequence.

What tai chi and qigong bring into the clinical space goes well beyond the long routines most people picture. New language. Fresh metaphors. Permission to do a little bit less. And surprisingly powerful ways to build therapeutic rapport with patients who struggle to engage with conventional rehabilitation.

That's what this course teaches: not a form to perform, but a perspective to practise.

The evidence base for tai chi and qigong now spans MSK, neurological, cardiopulmonary, mental health, falls prevention, and palliative care. This course helps you work out where it fits in your setting.

Next cohort: 15th June 2026. Online Six week course, £305, lifetime access. A combination of pre-recorded material to watch anytime and online live sessions to meet fellow learners. www.taichifortherapists.com

"Throughout the course I often found myself reflecting on past patients and thinking: I wish I had known this then. Even the language and visualisation used can make such a difference in how to achieve optimal movement and function."

One of our participants, a neuro physiotherapist, wrote this in her Tai Chi For Therapists course reflection:

"I had great results already by reducing a patient's anxiety... enabling her to stand and walk the furthest she has done for months, despite her arthritic joints, peripheral neuropathy and drug-induced Parkinson's."

She had added just one or two qigong movements to her existing session and was able to create a whole person approach. That's the point of this course. Not learning a full form and delivering it wholesale, but understanding the mechanisms enough to weave one or two movements into what you already do, with clear clinical reasoning behind every choice to make them effective.

Next cohort: 15th June 2026.

A lot of our participants come to Tai Chi for Therapists curious but cautious. They work in NHS settings, they value evidence, and they want to know whether tai chi genuinely belongs in clinical practice.
This is what one physiotherapist wrote at the end of the course:
"Brilliantly pitched for health professionals: acknowledges clinical reasoning skills but teaches the necessary aspects to use tai chi and qigong clinically. Paced and set up to allow time to work through around clinical caseload and other responsibilities."
That's exactly what we set out to build. Not a tai chi class for therapists, but a course that meets you where you already are as a clinician.
Our next cohort starts 15 June. Six weeks, optional live Wednesday evening sessions, lifetime access.

Moving just a little bit can help our mood. We don't need to do a lot of movement to make a difference to our health. We don't need to have special clothing or a special routine or a perfect method to feel the benefits. Breaking up the amount of time we spend sitting can all help. awareness week
