Kelvedon & Feering Health Centre

Kelvedon & Feering Health Centre GP practice providing medical services in Kelvedon, Feering and surrounding areas. This is our ONLY official social media account.

This page is a way for us to communicate and receive constructive feedback from the community and our patients. This is not a platform for personal queries, please send these to our email address. Accessibility/Parking:

Wheelchair access can be made through the front door and the toilets are suitable for disabled patients. We have hearing loop availability in our surgery. The surgery car park is

only for use of staff and disabled patients due to lack of space. Additional parking is available in the high street public car park. PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
We aim to provide friendly, 'person-centred' medicine, combining the best of old and new ideas. We wish to provide high quality care for all our patients and pride ourselves on the courtesy and efficiency of our staff. As we operate on a zero tolerance policy, any aggressive or antisocial posts or comments made towards a member of our staff or public will be deleted and reported. This is not a channel for any negativity or complaints to be aired, patients will still have to go through the correct channels for this which is the complaints policy and procedure. Please see our website for more information.

"The Big Conversation on Care" is giving the pubilc an opportunity to share your views on the future of Adult Social Care in England as
part of the independent Casey Commission that will inform recommendations to thecUK Government. Adult social care supports older people, disabled people and people with long-term health conditions with a wide range of everyday tasks, helping them to live independently and safely. However, the reality is that adult social care is not working well enough for many people, and change is needed so that current and futuregenerations who need support can get it. The Commission is welcoming views, experiences and ideas from people who draw on care and support, unpaid carers, the adult social care workforce, providers and organisations across the sector, and the general public. For more information (including in Easy Read), and to take part in the conversation go to https://caseycommission.co.uk/bigconversation/

*IMPORTANT* Diabetes UK has guidance to help people with diabetes, and/or their family or carers, to manage blood sugar levels during the hot weather. Heat can damage insulin and may cause it to be absorbed more quickly from injection sites, leading to increased risk of hypos (low
blood sugar).

Signs insulin has been damaged by heat or sunlight include becoming cloudy and grainy, sticking to the glass, or brownish in colour. High temperatures and direct sunlight can also affect blood
glucose meters and test strips, and they should be kept as close to normal room temperature as possible. If needing to change the position of a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) or insulin pump, avoid getting sunscreen around the insertion site to ensure it sticks properly. Plus, cover the pump with a towel when sunbathing to avoid heating the insulin. Dehydration can also increase risks for hyperosmolar hyperglycaemic syndrome (HHS) or diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).

the hot weather go to https://www.diabetes.org.uk/about-diabetes/looking-after-diabetes/hot-weather

Or call 03 45 123 2399 or email [email protected] or speak to your GP or healthcare professional.
