Common illnesses like norovirus and flu spread incredibly easily. Help to stop infections spreading by staying at home if you feel unwell, and washing your hands regularly. Please do not visit hospital until 48 hours after your symptoms have stopped.

We kindly ask you to not smoke inside or around our hospitals, including anywhere in our grounds or car parks. We want an environment that supports healthy behaviours, encourages those who are making a quit attempt, and protects more vulnerable patients from second-hand smoke. It is important you have a plan to not smoke whilst you are a patient or visitor at our sites.

A national survey has highlighted the positive experiences of inpatients across Morecambe Bay hospitals.

UHMBT ranked 26 out of 64 organisations across the UK, with 99% of respondents saying they were treated with respect, dignity, kindness and compassion while in our care.

Other top scores were achieved on questions about information provided on virtual wards, patient's mental health needs being taken into account and getting enough help from staff to keep clean.

Our teams are working incredibly hard to maintain safe services for patients and help us cope with the significant and growing demand.

You can help us during this time by using the right NHS service for your needs and only visiting A&E in life threatening and serious emergencies.

If you are unwell and aren't sure what to do, visit NHS 111 online for 24/7 advice.

If you are not contacted directly, please continue to turn up for your appointment or tell us if you are no longer able to make it so the appointment can be reallocated to another patient.

Remember to order your repeat prescriptions in plenty of time before the bank holiday.

Some GP practices and pharmacies will be closed or have limited opening hours, so making sure you have enough medication at home to cover the long weekend is really important.

You can request repeat prescriptions on the NHS app or with your GP.
