Do we want to change because we don't like ourselves — or because we care about ourselves?
It may sound like a small difference, but I think it changes everything.
So much of our relationship with the body is built around the idea that something needs to be improved.
We exercise because we don't like how we look. We push ourselves because we are not strong, flexible or fit enough. We compare ourselves with others. Even healing can become another project: *What is wrong with me, and how can I fix it?*
But there is another way.
We can move because it feels good to be in our body.
We can practise yoga without needing to achieve the perfect posture.
We can rest before exhaustion forces us to.
And we can receive massage not only when something hurts, but simply because our body deserves care.
Even when there is pain, tension or something that genuinely needs attention, we don't have to approach the body as something broken that needs fixing.
Sometimes the first step is simply to listen.
To meet the body where it is today — with attention, patience and kindness.
This is also how I approach massage.
Yes, massage can help release tension, support recovery and bring the body back towards balance. But it can also be something much simpler: a way of saying thank you to the body that carries us through every single day.
For an hour or two, we stop asking it to perform, improve or become something else. We listen, give it our attention, and allow it to receive.
And often, when we stop fighting ourselves, change happens more naturally.
Not because we reject who we are now, but because we care about ourselves enough to nurture what is already here.
**So perhaps a useful question is:
How is your relationship with your body these days?**
Do you listen to it?
Do you appreciate everything it does for you?
Do you give it the rest, movement, nourishment and care it deserves?
Are you kind to yourself?
And when was the last time you did something for you simply because you love and appreciate yourself — rather than because something was wrong?
If your body -and/or your mind- is asking for a little more attention, you are very welcome to come and receive.

Your body doesn't always need to be fixed.
Sometimes it simply needs to be heard, appreciated and cared for.
