On Saturday 26th September, I’m running 100 miles.

It’s a 13-mile loop. I’ll be doing it again, and again, until I hit the number.

I’m doing it for The Brain Tumour Charity.

If you can spare anything at all, it goes straight to research and support for people living with a brain tumour.

Thank you — every bit helps.

If you wish to join feel free every bit of help will be welcomed. Do a loop on or just 5k it will help me so much.

The body capacity is like a bottle of water.

Too small and it will over flow when you try to fill it up too much.

So you have two options decrease the amount of water you put in or build a bigger bottle.

In my opinion always build a bigger bottle.

Weekend well spent. Food was amazing the worked it off be doing 3x 7mile loops as you do.

Are you someone that keeps trying to get back into a sport such as running, cycling or swimming or just getting back into the gym.

But as soon as you start to get consistent you end up with an injury or having pain.

You’re not broken you just keep doing the same thing you have always done.

And

This is what needs to change.

When you are an athlete and you are feeling really good after come back from an injury or pain, this is prime time for another injury.

Not because you not ready

Because you decided I’m going to up the volume and intensity about what your tissue tolerance is.

Stick to the plan and build things slowly.

You want to be consistent and stay in your sport. Not do it once then be out again for another 6 month or longer.

Be patient

Here is my number one tip that people miss when getting into a sport or have been in one for a long time.

And that is strength work

You see the athletes with their strength and conditioning coaches. But you still don’t do it yourself.

Then you wonder why you keep getting niggles and injuries that set you back.

Yes, doing the sport makes you better at the sport.

But strength training makes certain attributes better that carry over into the sport.

Tissue tolerance being one of those.

High tissue tolerance to load means decreased risk of injury meaning more consistency in the sport you do. Which will hopefully lead to improved performance.

Let’s Get strong and improve your sport.

If you are struggling with pain injury or consistency or just don’t know where to start with strength work in your sport.

Dm me and let’s have a chat to see how I can help.

Recover time scales will be person dependent and injury dependent. And pain is a behaviour change mechanism and to change a behaviour long term takes. Time just because pain reduces don’t mean you fall back into the same habits or the same outcomes will happen

Rehabilitation should always be based around the clients goals.

If the client just wants to garden, the rehab should be based around this.

But this does not mean you cant train the client past what they need for gardening.

Prepare people for the worst case scenarios.
