Resting for back pain is an outdated idea. Initially it was felt that if you rested and therefore decompressed your spine, this would help back pain.
It might feel nice while you are lying, but as soon as you stand up, the pain returns, because resting doesn't change the underlying issue.
These days gentle movement is generally advised.
📍Keep active within pain free levels,
📍Ice your back for 10 mins per hour
📍Come in to see us so we can assess why your back is hurting in the first place.
Any back pain that lasts more than 2 weeks is unlikely to get better on its own. We can take a look, assess your spine and start getting you back to pain free living. 😀💪
