QUESTION 5: How can I move early labour along? 💜⭐💕

You can’t. Or at least you shouldn’t! In early labour it’s important to rest and fuel up as much as you can. Top up your energy reserves that you’ll need later on! Try to relax and not to chase Labour, it’ll happen by itself in its own time 💜⭐💕

QUESTION 4: How can my birth partner help me? 💕💜⭐

Firstly by just being there they’ll help regulate your hormones - reduce your cortisol and boost your oxytocin!

Secondly they need to be your biggest advocate and cheerleader so they can negotiate with your care provider if needed on your behalf.

Your doula will make sure your birth partner is well prepared and equipped so they are involved and helpful to you when you need them the most 💕💜⭐

14 years ago today I was pregnant during a heatwave. And it was HELL. I felt so miserable, not just because of how uncomfortable I was but because I was scared about the upcoming birth and it was something that was keeping me awake at night.

What I didn’t realise was I needed a doula. I honestly think had I had a doula by my side the labour with my 3rd child would have been a positive experience rather than the trauma that it was. Don’t get me wrong it was totally worth it as I love my child more than life itself but it’s not a memory I enjoy looking back on.

You want to feel supported, confident and excited about labour. On your child’s birthday you want to look back each year with fondness and joy. Your doula will make sure that’s the case 💕💜⭐

QUESTION 3: Do I HAVE to be induced? 💕💜⭐

In short - No. You don’t HAVE to accept any offer during pregnancy and labour as it is only an OFFER so you can decline anything. Your body, your baby, your rules. You do what’s right for YOU. And if that’s to accept induction then that’s 100% ok too!! Your doula will support your decisions and choices and be there no matter what path your birth takes to support you and make sure you come out of the experience feeling full of pride and joy so that you can look back on your birth as a positive experience 💕💜⭐

One thing you may not know about me is that as well as being passionate about all things birth, I am also obsessed with running and I run 4/5 miles 6 days a week. We are usually out the door before 6am!
