I’m tired.

This year has been a lot…

A LOT.

I’m doing what I often suggest others to do.

I’m taking a break.

Slowing down and resting.

Completely.

I need it.

I’m coming off of all socials until early October.

Ditto with emails.

Let’s normalise taking space when we need it.

There’s no strength in pushing on regardless.

Wishing you all happy, positive and bright days ✨

See you soon 🫶

Im so sad to hear of the death of Dolly Parton. I adored her.

She lived life on her terms, she was incredibly talented, did a lot of good in the world and was anti Trump.

She loved hard and was unapologetically herself.

The world feels a little less sparkly tonight.

Rest in peace Dolly ❤️ ✨

Grief is exausting at times but a huge teacher.

🔥 HOT HUMANS GO TO THERAPY🔥

Not because they’re broken.

Because they’re curious.

Curious about why they react the way they do.
Curious about the stories they’ve carried for years.
Curious about what life could feel like with a little more peace and a little less survival mode.

The longest relationship you’ll ever have is with yourself.

So investing in that relationship isn’t selfish.

It’s one of the smartest things you’ll ever do.

Therapy isn’t about fixing you.

It’s about helping you understand you.

And that?

That’s hot. ❤️

👇 Tell me… what’s one thing you’ve learnt about yourself that changed your life?

Save this for the days you forget, and tag someone who needs this reminder.

My little dad was a giant of a man.

He had the biggest hands, the quickest wit, and a presence that could fill any room.

Yesterday, I was incredibly thankful to be able to hold him as he passed away.

For all the heartbreak of losing someone you love, I am deeply grateful that he was comfortable, peaceful, and surrounded by love.

I spent the evening chatting with my sister in Canada, sharing stories and memories, and then with my mum in his final moments.

After a difficult journey, he finally received the love, dignity and care he deserved at Meyer House Nursing Home - a

The staff there are a shining example of how we should care for our elderly. For all of our people.

Their kindness, love, compassion and humanity will stay with me forever.

My heart is broken.

But it is also full.

Full of love.
Full of gratitude.
Full of memories of a wonderful man who was loved beyond measure.

Love you, Daddy ❤️

He’s resigned … Now what? Who will replace Wes Streeting as health secretary? And what do they need to do with the NHS

13/05/2026

I was NOT expecting that!

Behind the job title…
the uniform,
the suit,
the lanyard,
the LinkedIn headline…

There is still just… a human.

A human who worries.
Overthinks.
Gets tired.
Misses people.
Carries pressure quietly.
Pretends they’re fine sometimes.

The finance director.
The paramedic.
The CEO.
The nurse.
The lawyer.
The therapist.

Different worlds.
Same nervous system. 🧠

And often?
The things that help us most are the things we overlook because they seem too simple.

Sleep.
Connection.
Fresh air.
Boundaries.
Laughter.
Rest.
Being listened to.
Feeling safe enough to exhale.

Not everything healing has to be complicated to be powerful. ✨

I’m delighted to be a speaker at the No Ordinary Shift Emergency Care Conference this year.

This conference was originally created to celebrate the Emergency Care Forum’s 50th anniversary in 2022, and several board members are speaking at this year’s conference. We’ll be discussing big issues like corridor care, violence and incivility, as well as practical how-to sessions, leadership, and best practices.

The No Ordinary Shift conference is a great place to decompress with other people who get what you do. In previous conferences, we’ve seen nurses come together, share their experiences and wisdom and support each other. We watched people re-energise, laugh and connect across the event, leaving inspired, motivated and often with new emergency care friends.

Professor Lynda Holt, who hosts the event, is a former Chair of the ECF, and I know she is keen to create a space that supports emergency nurses not just with a strong emergency care programme, but also with the time and tools to look after themselves and each other.

We’d love to see you at the conference. It’s great to have that informal space to meet emergency members, and I know you will get just what you need from the conference. You can see the outline programme here:

See you there ❤️

Do yourself a favour…
watch this 🎥

Not because it’s trending.
But because it lands.

Kindness isn’t weakness.
It’s an elevated emotional response.

It takes awareness.
Pause.
Choice.

In a world that moves fast and reacts faster…
kindness is the quiet power move 🤍

And honestly?
We need more of it.

Happy Saturday ✨
I’m off for a long dog walk 🐾🌿
Resetting, breathing, slowing it all down.

What are you up to today?
