Here we go again!

I wanted to let you all know that the clinic will be closed from 16th June until Mid-July while I undergo urgent surgery and take some time to recover

During this time my diary will be closed for all bookings, and I won’t be able to see patients in clinic

I’m very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and truly appreciate your understanding and patience. Your support means a lot to me.

I’m looking forward to returning in July and continuing to care for you all once I’m fully recovered

Thank you for your kindness and understanding

*"How soon after birth can I have chiropractic care?"*

The answer is that it varies from person to person. Some women choose to come in within the first few weeks after birth, while others wait a little longer depending on their recovery and circumstances

Pregnancy, birth and caring for a newborn can place significant physical demands on the body. Between feeding, carrying, lifting, rocking and sleepless nights, it's no surprise many mums notice tension through the neck, shoulders, back and pelvis

Post-partum chiropractic care focuses on supporting comfort, mobility and movement as your body recovers and adapts to life with a new baby

Because while everyone is focused on baby, mum deserves looking after too 🤍

If you're unsure whether now is the right time for you, feel free to get in touch and ask

When a baby is breech, many parents begin exploring different ways to try and get their baby to "turn"

This might include:
✨ Spinning Babies® inspired techniques
✨ Pregnancy-adapted chiropractic care
✨ Movement and mobility exercises
✨ Moxibustion
✨ Discussions around ECV with their maternity team

And remember, there is no guaranteed method for a baby to turn head down, and every pregnancy is completely individual

The most important thing is that parents feel informed, supported and able to make the choices that feel right for them

Feeding is something many people expect to come naturally, but for some babies, feeding can feel like hard work

Babies use coordinated movement through the jaw, neck, tongue and body during feeding. Sometimes areas of tension may affect how comfortably or efficiently they latch

When a latch is less efficient, some babies may:
✨ Use more energy during feeds
✨ Tire more quickly
✨ Swallow more air
✨ Struggle more with wind or tummy discomfort

This can sometimes be associated with reflux-like symptoms or unsettled behaviour

It’s also important to remember that reflux and colic can have many different causes, which is why a thorough consultation and appropriate referral are so important. If concerns fall outside a Chiropractors scope, parents may be advised to speak with their GP, midwife or health visitor

And as always, if you are worried about your baby’s feeding, weight gain, comfort or wellbeing, please seek medical advice 🤍

“Why is my baby breech?” is a question I always get asked

The truth is, sometimes there’s no obvious reason at all

Baby's positioning can be influenced by many factors, including maternal anatomy, muscle tension, scar tissue from previous surgeries, placental position, or simply how baby naturally settles during pregnancy

And importantly: not all babies turn head down before birth - talking to the Nana's and great Nana's I treat, I hear many (positive birth) stories about how their baby came out bottom or feet first

This post is all about understanding some of the possible influences on positioning, while remembering that every pregnancy is unique

One thing I often hear from parents is how worried they are that their child will feel scared or overwhelmed during an appointment

New environments can feel big and unfamiliar for little ones, which is why I've tried to make my space feel as calm, welcoming, and "non-medical" as possible

That often means I'm crawling around, being silly, singing or music, toys and pillows

To make the appointment feel interactive, relaxed, and fun

A calm, relaxed child makes them feel safe

You may have heard the term “breech”, but what does it actually mean?

A breech baby is positioned bottom or feet first rather than head down later in pregnancy. While many babies naturally turn before birth, some remain breech. This can influence birth planning and delivery options (depending on your local hospital)

In this post, I’m sharing:
- What breech means
- Different breech positions
- How it may affect birth choices
- NHS options for breech delivery

As always, every pregnancy and birth is individual, and your maternity team can help guide the safest options for you and your baby 🤍

Stay tuned for part 2!

I see many women post-partum, not realising they could’ve been having chiropractic care throughout their pregnancy 🤍

As your body changes during pregnancy, it’s common to experience shifts in posture, movement and general comfort. Chiropractic care is adapted safely throughout all trimesters, with treatment tailored to both you and your growing bump.

Pregnancy pillows and supportive positioning can also be used to help you feel comfortable and relaxed during treatment 🤍

If you’ve been wondering whether chiropractic care is suitable during pregnancy, feel free to get in touch with any question

Gentle care from the very beginning 🤍

This little one was just 11 days old and completely relaxed during her session 💤

Assisted births, such as forceps delivery, can sometimes lead to areas of tension in a baby’s jaw, neck or body. Many parents choose a newborn check-up to support comfort, movement and early development

Chiropractic care for babies is very gentle, using light, tailored techniques suited from birth
