🏠 Big News! Mega Nursing & Care Launches the Homefirst D2A Pilot! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to announce that this Monday 22nd June, Mega Nursing & Care officially launches our Homefirst Discharge to Assess (D2A) pilot, a first-of-its-kind collaborative bringing together health and care partners to transform how people are supported home from hospital.

This model has been co-designed with our brilliant partners:

🤝 Central Bedfordshire Council

🤝 Bedford Borough Council

🤝 NHS East London NHS Foundation Trust

🤝 NHS Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Together, we're delivering something genuinely different.
Rather than keeping patients in hospital while their care needs are assessed, our nurse-led team supports people home first, where they feel safest and where their true needs can be properly understood. From there, we provide up to four visits per day across the first 72 hours, with a thorough, person-centred assessment of what ongoing support, if any, is needed.
It's about doing what's right for patients: faster discharge, less risk of hospital-acquired harm, and better outcomes. All underpinned by clinical oversight from our CEO and Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Margeret Lawal. 💙

The Mega Olympic Games are officially back! ⚽🏆

And what better way to kick things off than with football?

With excitement in the air, our branch teams came together for a morning of competition, plenty of laughs and moments of sheer football brilliance. Although, the real highlight was seeing our favourites connect and spend time together outside of the usual work day 💙 Are you ready for the next!?

What an incredible evening 💙

Last weekend, we had the privilege of sponsoring the LDA Charity Ball, an event dedicated to raising awareness and support for people living with learning disabilities and autism.

It was wonderful to see so many people come together for such an important cause. The evening was filled with generosity, celebration and a shared commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive future.

At Mega, we’re passionate about supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism to live with dignity, independence and opportunity. Being part of an event that champions those values was a genuine honour.

A huge thank you to Amber and the entire LDA team for organising such a fantastic event, and to everyone who attended, donated and showed their support.

We’re proud to stand alongside this community and look forward to continuing our support in the future.

There are jobs, and then there’s care. The kind where you show up for someone so consistently that you start to feel like family.

• You become part of people’s lives in such a real way; you learn their routines, their stories, their little preferences
• The endearing moments are endless. From their deep appreciation of you simply keeping them company, to seeing how loved they are in their neighbourhood.
• It teaches you selflessness (and patience) in the most practical way; you learn to lead with compassion, even when you’re tired.
