🚨 **MISSED APPOINTMENTS – JULY 2026** 🚨

In July, **280 appointments** at Northumberland House Surgery were not attended.

That’s 280 appointments that could have been offered to other patients who needed to see a healthcare professional.

📊 Out of **5,987 appointments offered**, 280 were missed.

💷 These missed appointments cost the NHS an estimated **£11,760**.

If you’re unable to attend your appointment, please let our **Reception Team** know as soon as possible so we can cancel it and offer the appointment to someone else.

**📢 Could You Be Living with Hepatitis C Without Knowing It?**

Around **70,000 people in England** are estimated to have hepatitis C and don't know they have it.

Hepatitis C is spread through **blood-to-blood contact** and often has **no symptoms**, but if left untreated it can lead to serious liver damage. The good news is that hepatitis C is **curable**, and a **free, confidential home testing kit** is available.

You may benefit from testing if you:

* Have ever injected drugs or shared equipment (even once)
* Had a blood transfusion before 1996 or certain NHS blood products before 1986
* Were born or lived in a country where hepatitis C is more common
* Had tattoos, piercings, dental treatment or medical procedures in countries where infection control standards may have differed
