to help. With 13 years of experience as a Personal Trainer, a Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Nutrition Science and ten years of being obsessed with nutrition my aim is to stand against the side of the diet industry that sells misinformation, one-size-fits all plans and supplements that simply don't work. Instead, I'm here to offer genuine, evidence based, practical advice that helps set women up to know more about what works for their bodies in a way that lasts a lifetime.

It has been so good to be work with Laura these past four months (both in a nutrition and strength training capacity).
It's exciting to think of what the next burst of progress will look like!

Issue 3 of my Nutrition Newsletter landed yesterday and it has already had such a great response.

"The hidden cost of starting over every Monday" was this months topic and it seems to have struck a chord with lots of you.

Whilst its always a bit nerve wracking sharing the ins and outs of my own journey with years of yo-yo dieting, I'm also beginning to realise that having walked that walk is exactly what helps me coach women through it (and importantly OUT of it) now.

If you want in on these newsletters just shoot me a message with your email and ill send you them over.

No nonsense and no gimmicks.
Just straight forward, honest, evidence based nutrition information to help women nourish themselves and break free from dieting cycles that are getting them nowhere.

(And often a monthly recipe for good measure too!).

Enjoy!

Some breakfasts that have helped me drop over 7lbs in less than four weeks (and whilst fat loss isn't the only goal to work towards nutritionally, it is currently the goal I have).

This post isn't to promote these particular breakfasts or even to promote fat loss (though it is my speciality if you need help).

It is to show that if the nonsense that is banded about the internet is true then how could I possibly be making progress? Not just me, my clients too.

If drinking coffee on an empty stomach first thing universally spikes cortisol and therefore stores belly fat, how can I be getting leaner drinking it every single day at 530am?

If eating carbohydrates (including the ever demonised white bread) halts fat loss, spikes blood sugar and has us craving more and more.... why have these breakfasts been keeping me satisfied, fuelled whilst getting me closer to my fat loss goal?

Could it be that maybe we are all individual? Could it be that the generic rules, restrictions and scare mongering is actually nothing more than an attempt to keep us confused, stuck and spending money on a bunch of plans, supplements and tests we do not need?

I'm not here to say have these for breakfast (albeit I think they're tasty). I'm here to be a voice amongst the noise saying question everything you read, see and get sucked into buying.
I'm also here to be boring AF and say if you're struggling to get some decent sleep, regular eating patterns, regular exercise, fresh air, adeuqate protein, fruits & veggies and/or fibre in your life then I understand why you want to gravitate to thinking a supplement or special food rule will paper over the cracks but they won't.

Also, if you're stuck spinning your wheels when it comes to fat loss then I'm here 👋 ☺️

I learned that trying to create a monthly nutrition newsletter on top of a fully booked few months of nutrition consultations and being CHOKA was ambitious.... 🥵

However issue number two of my Ayrshire Nutritionist Newsletter is finally out and in your inbox (check your spam) if you're on my mailing list or you're a client.

My main aim with these is just to break through all the noise and nonsense that permeates social media and actually provide real, evidence based and practical help when it comes to tackling common fat loss/nutrition issues.

This months topics?

- Why eating less isn't always the answer to losing weight
- Greens powders, worth it or ditch them?

And I also a fired in a lovely wee creamy pea and bacon pasta recipe too!

What topics would you love to know more about or what supplements/trends should I unpick to see if they are worth your time? Let me know.

Enjoy!

It was such a privilege for me to host a Nutrition & Movement Throughout Menopause Workshop in Feeling Fabulous Kilmarnock last Friday.

When Catherine asked me to do this I jumped at the chance!
Every time I do these workshops not only do I get to connect with women who are struggling with their nutrition, their health and their mindset (and hopefully I can impact them positively by delivering some nuggets to help) but they also get to hear that they are not alone in the things they are struggling with.

We covered everything from the changes in our hormones and our bodies that can happen through this time, to protein, to fibre, to supplements, to strength training and so much more.

I've delivered this workshop loads now and it never goes the same way twice. I love the questions, the chat, the sharing of experiences and getting right to the bottom of what can help best for the women who attend and this one was a cracker.

A gorgeous bunch of women, a gorgeous set up in Catherine's salon and it was really cool to have these women choose to spend the first sunny Friday night this year listening to me chat all things Nutrition and Movement.

However, 39p fresh tagliatelle was a phenomenal base for this recipe!

Its quick, its light, it's packed with nutrients/protein/fibre/flavour and we are already buzzing to have it again tonight.

Creamy Salmon Pasta.
576 calories
39g protein
6g fibre
15 mins from fridge to plate.

Swipe through the photos to see the steps.

Freshness from the peas, lots of flavour from the blistered tomatoes and garlic, plant goodness from the spinach, omega 3s from the salmon and some absolute comfort from the creamy ricotta based sauce and fresh pasta.

I don't want this to become a recipe page and simultaneously post lots of recipes....
I'm sure there are loads of variations of this on the gram and I have a lot of posts on the back burner about motivation, decision making, why meal plans don't work plus the March/April edition of the Newsletter coming too but I might need 36 hours in a day to get through it all!

So have a recipe instead xox
