We are a Five Star Rated (NHS Choices) 2 GP Partner and 4 Salaried GP GMS Practice and Training Practice based in South Warwickshire. Our Main Surgery in Kineton can be found in the Kineton Market Square. Kineton Surgery is a converted Victorian School which opened in 1994 and has recently undergone major refurbishment and our Branch Surgery in Main Street Tysoe is a purpose built surgery which o

pened in 1998. We offer late night opening on a Tuesday evening with Dispensary and Reception services open until 8.30pm. We also offer a Commuter Clinic service on Wednesday and Thursday evenings until 7.30pm. For our parents with young children we have a Childhood Illness Session every morning. For our general practice population, we offer pre-bookable appointments and we also have a sit and wait emergency clinic for both our morning and afternoon sessions for acute problems. Good news! Brenda the Venda is back online.

We apologise to anyone who was unable to collect their medication from our dispensing robot over the last few days.

Following a brief rebellion, Brenda informed us that she was unhappy with her broadband connection. After some investigation, it turned out the router had decided to retire early. A brand-new router has now been installed and peace has been restored.

We’re pleased to report that Brenda has agreed to return to work and is once again happily spinning around dispensing prescriptions 24/7.

I’ll be sharing some of the practical things we’ve learned across Warwickshire East PCN about managing long-term conditions, supporting patients through multidisciplinary teams, and making healthcare improvements that actually work in day-to-day practice.

Events like this are always a great reminder that we’re all learning together. It’s an opportunity not only to share ideas but also to pick up new approaches from colleagues across the NHS.

Just a little update following the HSJ Digital Awards 2026 last night 🎉

We had a fantastic evening at the ICC Birmingham and were incredibly proud to be shortlisted nationally in the Improving Primary Care Through Digital category.

Whilst we didn’t take home the award this year, congratulations go to Modality Partnership in Birmingham, whose work across a large multi-site GP network serving hundreds of thousands of patients was genuinely impressive.

Interestingly, many of the digital and AI approaches they showcased were very similar to systems we have already been developing and using within our own surgery and PCN. It was reassuring to see that rural general practice can still innovate alongside much larger organisations, and we certainly came away with new ideas and inspiration to bring back to our teams and patients.

Apologies for not posting last night — the ceremony ran quite late into the evening and, sadly, we were unsuccessful on the night — but being shortlisted at a national level alongside some outstanding organisations was still a huge achievement that we are very proud of. 💙

A massive thank you to all of our staff and patients for supporting the journey.

An inspiring evening here at the HSJ Digital Awards 2026 at the ICC Birmingham tonight 🎉

Fantastic to see so many passionate people from across the NHS, primary care, community services and hospitals all coming together to share ideas on how digital innovation and AI can genuinely improve patient care.

Very proud that both Warwickshire East PCN and Kineton Surgery have been shortlisted this year — representing rural general practice and Primary Care on a national stage. 💙

The conversations tonight really highlight how quickly healthcare is evolving, from smarter patient access and digital triage to automation helping reduce admin burden and freeing up clinicians to spend more time with patients.

A huge thank you to our teams back at the surgery and across the PCN who make these projects possible every single day.

24 hours to go… getting excited 🎉

Fantastic news 🎉

Following on from last year’s GP Awards success, I’m proud to share that we have now been shortlisted as finalists in TWO categories at the prestigious HSJ Digital Awards 2026.

As Lead GP Partner at Kineton & Tysoe Surgery, we have been shortlisted for:

“Improving Primary Care through Digital”

In addition, Warwickshire East Primary Care Network — where I work as Clinical Director — has also been shortlisted for:

“Improving Mental Health through Digital”

The HSJ (Health Service Journal) Awards are among the most recognised healthcare awards in the UK, celebrating innovation and transformation across the NHS.

Both projects reflect our belief that digital systems and AI should be used to support patients and clinicians — improving access, streamlining processes and freeing up more time for direct patient care, rather than replacing it.

A huge thank you to the fantastic teams at Warwickshire East Primary Care Network and Kineton & Tysoe Surgery for all of their hard work and innovation behind the scenes.

📍 New Self-Service Health Check Station at the Surgery

You may have noticed our new standing health check machine in the waiting area.

This allows you to quickly check your:

* Height
* Weight
* Pulse
* Blood pressure

It will provide a printed summary that you can hand to one of our clinicians before your appointment. This helps us keep your medical records up to date, and you can also keep a copy for your own records at home.

🎥 Here’s a short video showing you how to use the machine.

As part of your annual health checks or medication reviews, we may contact you asking for up-to-date readings such as your weight or blood pressure. If you don’t have a blood pressure monitor at home, please feel free to pop in and use this machine.
