4 things that can slow your dog’s recovery 🐾

Recovery isn’t always straight forward. There will be good days, bad days and setbacks — and that’s okay!

Here are 4 things that can make recovery harder:

1️⃣ Doing too much, too soon
Feeling better doesn’t mean your dog is fully healed. Increasing exercise too quickly can increase the risk of pain, compensation or re-injury.

2️⃣ Forgetting rehab
Rehabilitation helps rebuild strength, mobility, coordination and confidence — it’s an important part of recovery.

3️⃣ Skipping your physio exercises
Those small exercises add up! Consistency helps maintain progress between sessions and gradually builds strength.

4️⃣ Pushing through setbacks
A setback doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Sometimes your dog simply needs their workload reduced before building back up again.

Remember: progress isn’t linear.

Good rehabilitation isn’t about doing more every day. It’s about finding the right level for your dog, adapting when needed, and gradually building towards their goals.

Look at the bigger picture rather than expecting improvement every single day, and celebrate the small wins along the way! 🐾

PREHAB > REHAB
We all know the saying… prevention is better than cure — and the same applies to our pets!

Meet Oakley 🐶 His owner requested regular physiotherapy check-ups, not because he has an injury or a problem, but to help keep him moving well and identify any potential issues early.

Regular prehab sessions can help us:
✨ Monitor movement and biomechanics
✨ Identify subtle changes before they become bigger problems
✨ Maintain strength, mobility and flexibility
✨ Provide tailored conditioning and exercise advice
✨ Support your dog through different life stages and activity levels

Physiotherapy isn't just for when something goes wrong. Sometimes, the best time to see a physio is before there is a problem.

A little bit of prevention now could mean a lot less rehabilitation later!

Also how handsomely adorable is Oakley 🥹🥰
