Rejection After Apology
Experiencing rejection after an apology highlights a misunderstanding of forgiveness. Forgiveness is often viewed as a transaction rather than a gift.
Biblical Perspective on Forgiveness
The Bible presents forgiveness as a gift from God and an obligation to others. Colossians 3:12-14 emphasizes compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, and unconditional forgiveness.
Misconception of Conditional Forgiveness
Many Christians have a skewed view, believing they can set their own terms for forgiveness. Instead of showing grace, conditions are imposed based on perceived worthiness.
Forgiveness Begins with God
Forgiveness originates from God and is a gift from His heart. Ephesians 4:31-32 instructs to rid oneself of bitterness and to be kind and compassionate, forgiving as God forgave.
The High Cost of Unforgiveness
Forgiveness comes at a cost to both God and us. We often accept God's forgiveness but hesitate to extend it to others. Matthew 6:14-15 states that our forgiveness from God is contingent upon our forgiveness of others.
Love and Forgiveness Connection
Struggles with forgiveness often stem from a lack of understanding of God's love. Luke 7:41-47 illustrates that those forgiven much will love much, as shown by the sinful woman's actions.
Understanding and Extending Forgiveness
Unforgiveness indicates a heart that hasn't fully experienced grace. Recognizing our own forgiveness compels us to extend it to others.
The Freedom of Forgiveness
God's forgiveness is available to all who repent, regardless of others' actions. Forgiveness requires sacrificing pride and the desire for justice but leads to freedom from bitterness. Forgiveness is transformative and reflects God's love; it should be chosen based on our own forgiveness, not others' worthiness.

Ah, Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth with your great power and outstretched arm. To you nothing is impossible. (Jr 32:17)

Our glory is to mirror back in loving praise to the God who made us the beauty we glimpse dimly in all that comes from his hand.

All that exists comes from God; all is by him and for him: To him be glory for ever.

1. Pride and Humility in Prayer:
• Pride prevents us from acknowledging God and leads us to attribute our gifts to ourselves, while humility in prayer brings us into God's presence and helps us recognize our sinfulness.
2. The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector:
• The Pharisee's prideful prayer contrasts with the tax collector's humble plea for mercy, teaching us about the importance of humility and repentance in prayer.
3. The Power of Humility:
• Humility, demonstrated through prayer, helps us conquer the devil's temptations, withstand despair, and seek God's grace for conversion and exaltation.
4. Prayer as a Means of Transformation:
• Engaging in prayer with humility allows us to confront our spiritual weaknesses, challenges our self-assurance, and enables us to partake in the humility and exaltation of Jesus Christ.
