Recent events have understandably raised questions about the care people receive after they die, and we recognise the concern this has caused within our local community.
At A Shepherd & Sons Funeral Directors, part of the Dignity Funerals Group, caring for the person entrusted to us with dignity, respect and professionalism is at the heart of everything we do.
Every person who comes into our care is looked after in accordance with rigorous standards, procedures and best practice, ensuring the highest levels of care from the moment they are entrusted to us until the day of the funeral.
As a business, we have taken the decision to adopt across our English funeral homes the same standards and processes already in place within our regulated Scottish branches. This includes enhanced operational oversight, compliance visits, customer care standards and continual training, helping to ensure best practice remains embedded throughout our funeral homes.
We have long supported greater regulation across the funeral profession and believe every family deserves reassurance, transparency and confidence in the care their loved one receives.
We would also like to recognise and thank funeral directors across Hull who have worked tirelessly throughout this difficult period. Colleagues across our profession have spent countless hours answering questions, offering guidance and providing reassurance to families when it has been needed most. The professionalism, compassion and dedication shown throughout the city has demonstrated the very best of funeral directing.
