Today our residents at Alexandra Court enjoyed a wonderful Spanish Culture Day filled with music, laughter, and new experiences! 🇪🇸

Residents made their own sangria, sampled a variety of delicious Spanish foods, listened and danced to traditional Spanish music, and even took part in a fun Spanish word game to learn some of the language.

It was a fantastic day of culture, conversation, and smiles all around!

Alexandra - had a chilled afternoon enjoying a wonderful cinema experience with Lights, camera, action!

Residents had a vote on what to watch the classic musical comedy, Sister Act!

With popcorn, snacks, and plenty of singing along, it was an afternoon filled with laughter, music, and happy memories. A fantastic choice by our residents and a lovely way to spend time together!

We would like to introduce our first of our meet our team at Alexandra Court.

Meet Alison, our Senior Care Assistant - who has worked in care for 12 years and worked at Alexandra Court for 9 years. Alison comes with a wealth of experience and fully enjoys her role as a Senior Care Assistant - Alison loves making a difference to our residents life and making sure that care and support needs are fully met.
Alison described Alexandra Court as a caring, compassionate and happy and lovely place to be.

Alexandra Court, was filled with a wagging tail and plenty of smiles as we welcomed a very special therapy dog for a visit.

Residents spent time stroking, chatting, laughing, and sharing memories of beloved pets from years gone by.

Animal therapy can have such a positive impact on wellbeing, helping to reduce anxiety, encourage interaction, and create meaningful moments of connection.

A huge thank you to our furry visitor, Martha, and her handler, Beth from Care Connections for bringing so much happiness to everyone’s day. We’re already looking forward to the next visit!

This week as part of our Dementia Week, our residents living with dementia have been expressing their creativity by making sensory boards.
They explored a variety of textures, colours, and materials, choosing pieces that were meaningful to them and enjoyable to touch and feel.
The activity encouraged self-expression, conversation, and sensory engagement, resulting in beautiful, colourful, and highly personalised designs.

Our continued dementia friendly week - this week residents picked their favourite games to play to get them moving and keeping up on their coordination. This was followed with a playlist of their favourite songs and some armchair dancing!

As Our themed Activities continue with our Dementia Week - we has a bit of friendly competition in our coordination game. Each resident had six small hoops and six large hoops and enjoyed trying to get the most over the cones as part of our “Get Fit with Jack” class along with some armchair exercises to keep us active.

Tuesday wasn't as bright and sunny, with the weather being a bit wet outside we had a quiet afternoon enjoying a lovely afternoon tea! We were treated by our dedicated kitchen team with beautiful homemade scones with jam and cream - as you can see these went down a treat. 🍰🍩
