Hi everyone 👋

I just wanted to pop on here and say sorry I've been so quiet lately! I just need to face it…social media really isn’t my thing! 🙈 But I’m ok with that as the truth is, I'd much rather be spending my time doing what I love, which is supporting you all through whatever life is throwing at you ❤️

So I want to assure you that I’m still here for you and I will always use this page to keep you updated with anything new happening at Believe Therapy, so I thought I'd share some of my latest news...

I'm really pleased to say that I'm now offering EMDR therapy.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a therapy that can help people process difficult or traumatic experiences so they don't feel quite so overwhelming. It can also be really helpful for anxiety, phobias, low self-esteem and other challenges that can keep us feel stuck.

If you think this might help you or have any questions at all, please just get in touch ❤️

💭Consistency… it’s been on my mind 💭

I’ve been thinking recently about consistency – especially around posting here – it’s definitely not my strength and I’ve noticed how much of an issue it can be for me. Maybe it’s because I grew up in an era without social media; maybe it’s a confidence thing and probably a bit of both. Whatever it is, it’s definitely got me reflecting.

And it feels particularly relevant in January, when so many of us are starting new goals, intentions, or “fresh starts”. We often hear that “consistency is key to success”… but knowing that and *living* it can be very different things.

From a therapeutic perspective, consistency isn’t about being perfect or pushing yourself relentlessly. It’s often about what’s happening underneath. So what actually helps consistency?

💭Here are a few thoughts 💭

✔️Being kind to yourself – consistency grows much more easily from encouragement than from self-criticism. Beating yourself up usually leads to stopping, not continuing.
✔️Understanding your patterns – if something keeps dropping off, there’s often a good reason. Curiosity works better than judgement.
✔️Keeping it realistic – small, manageable steps are more sustainable than big, all-or-nothing plans.
✔️Feeling safe enough to show up – confidence, fear of being seen, or fear of getting it “wrong” can all affect consistency.
✔️Allowing flexibility – consistency doesn’t mean doing something every day without fail; it means coming back to it again and again.
✔️Connecting to your ‘why’– when something has personal meaning, it’s easier to stay with it, even when motivation dips.

If you’re struggling with consistency – whether it’s with goals, habits, relationships, or showing up for yourself – it might not be a lack of willpower at all. There’s often something deeper worth understanding.
