A Direct Cremation is an unattended funeral without a service. This is becoming a more popular choice for families, with many choosing to celebrate their loved one's life at a later date and in their own way.

Unlike many other companies offering this service, J. Ribbons offer the use of our chapel of rest at no extra cost, to allow Family and Friends the opportunity to say their final goodbyes. You are welcome to play music in the chapel and hold your own intimate 'service' if you wish.

A Direct Cremation includes -

Bringing your loved one into our care at our premises in Hull.

Preparation and dressing in their own clothes or a gown will be provided.

Personal service from our funeral director.

Completion of all legal documents.

Use of our chapel of rest.

Cremation at a local Crematorium on a date agreed with you.

A traditional wooden coffin.

Return of ashes as instructed by you.

Christmas opening times.

We will be available throughout the Christmas period and as usual our telephone line will be answered 24 hours a day.

On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing day, we will be in the office for appointments and urgent service only.
