It's almost time for the second Sound & Ceremony - The Art of Listening workshop. I am packing all my instruments, making sure all the little things we need for experiential work are prepared and getting into the mindset of passing on the knowledge to the students.

I'm really looking forward to another day of sound, ceremony, listening, exploration and probably quite a lot of laughter.

This isn't a day where I'm going to teach a magical formula for “healing frequencies” or explain how one particular instrument fixes one particular thing, as there is no such frequency or instrument. 😂

We'll look at sound in a much more grounded way.

We'll explore how we listen, how sound can affect our experience and nervous system, how instruments can be used individually and together, how ceremony is structured and what it actually means to hold space for other people.

And, of course, students will get to play the instruments and experience them for themselves.

The first workshop was such a lovely day and I honestly came home absolutely shattered. 😂

But watching everyone create their own little ceremony at the end made it completely worth it.

I have a feeling the next workshop on Sunday is going to be another good one. 💜

Something is shifting. In the mornings and evenings, temperatures are dropping, and the day is getting shorter. Autumn has arrived, maybe not quite on the calendar yet, but in the bones of the land it is already here.

Today I sent out what will be my last newsletter under the Rainbow Vibrations name. A chapter is closing, and a new one is opening. And it felt right that it happened in autumn, the season that understands better than any other how to let go with grace.

Most sound healers know the instruments. Far fewer know how to build a container around them.

I've been saying this a lot because I believe it's the most important thing I can pass on.

Sound facilitation is not just about the instruments you play or how well you play them. It begins long before the first sound is made - in how you prepare the space, how you prepare yourself, how you greet the people who walk through the door, how you open and close with care.

The ceremony around the sound is not decorative; it's the vessel that holds everything.

In Sound & Ceremony - The Art of Listening, we will be exploring different instruments and how they work, but one day is not enough to go deep into technique with each one. That takes many hours, many days, many layers of practice.

One day is enough to understand the foundation: how to listen before you play and how to build a container that holds people safely while moving them deeply.

That foundation is what everything else is built on. Whether you go on to work with gongs, singing bowls, drums, other instruments or all of them, the container is always where it starts.

I am super excited that on Sunday I will be sharing with a new group of students what I have learnt over the past 15 years working with sound, safe space, ceremony and deep listening.

One of the things I love about teaching sound is that I don't want people to become little versions of me.

I don't want everyone playing their instruments in exactly the same way, following the same formula or thinking there is only one “right” way to create a sound ceremony.

Of course, there are skills to learn. You need to understand your instruments and know how to play them. You need to understand ceremony, structure, boundaries and how to hold a space.

But underneath all of these is another skill - learning to listen.

That's why Sound & Ceremony – The Art of Listening is so experiential.

You don't just sit and listen to me waffle on about sound. 😂

You get to explore it and make mistakes. You get to discover what happens when different instruments meet and notice what your body hears.

And eventually, you get to put it all together and create something yourself.

That's where the learning and cooperation get really interesting.
I can't wait to see what unfolds next week. We have a few spaces available if you are drawn to start your journey into the sound and ceremony. 💜

We are arriving at the threshold of Lughnasadh / Lammas - the first harvest festival. 🌾

This summer has been a hot and dry one and harvest has come earlier than usual because of it. Which is right, as when it comes to living in tune with Nature, there is no fixed calendar. Our ancestors didn't stop to celebrate until the harvest was in. The wisest thing we can do is look out of the window and follow what Nature is actually doing, rather than what the calendar tells us we should be doing.

Even so, the shift is already here if you know how to feel for it. The light has changed, the days are shortening and something in the air has turned, even as the sun is still hot.

Lughnasadh is often overlooked due to summer holidays and then suddenly autumn arrives and we're scrambling to adjust. But this threshold deserves to be met consciously. It is the moment the wheel tips toward the harvest and we are invited to take stock, not just of what has grown in the ground, but of what has grown in us.

Here are the questions I am sitting with at this first harvest:

🌾 What has come to fruition this year, even if it looked different than I imagined?
🌾 What has the heat and intensity of this season burnt away?
🌾 What seeds within this harvest are worth carrying forward into autumn and winter?
🌾 What goes to the compost? What needs to rot down into rich ground so something new can grow?
🌾 What do I know now, at this first harvest, that I didn't know at the beginning of the year?

Gather with those you love, reflect on what has grown and celebrate what you are bringing in.

Last night we gathered at the Bristol Goddess Temple for the Summer Solstice Gong Meditation. 🌞

As the sounds of gongs held us, we travelled together into the light of consciousness. That radiant field where there is enough for everyone. Where there is no scarcity or competition. Just an infinite golden weave and each of us a necessary thread within it.

The medicine of the Summer Solstice is not just light out there but the recognition of the light within and woven through all of us.

As everyone left, they carried with them a little pouch of dried elderflower, the little blessing of Midsummer, a reminder of joy, of radiance, of everyone's own unique luminosity.

To everyone who came - thank you for your presence, your openness and for being part of the weave. 🌿✨

The wheel turns, the descent begins and we carry the light with us.

As we enter the pause between the inhale and the exhale of the Sun standing still, I wish you all a blessed and light-filled Summer Solstice ☀️

After a few days of pause, when it feels like the Sun is standing still, there will be a subtle shift in the days getting shorter again. In a few days, we will start our slow descent into the darker part of the year. As soon as we step over the threshold of the Summer Solstice, the outer energy begins to wane and the inner journey begins to expand.

During this peak of the Sun's energy and daylight, we celebrate the fullness of who we are and what gifts we bring to the world just by being here, we celebrate what we have brought into the world this year, we celebrate what we have manifested. This time is like a pause between the inhale and exhale, between seen and unseen, where all the magic happens.

Whether the sun has been generous with us this week or not (there is more Sun and heat incoming over the next few days), we can still connect with longer days and recognise the light that is within us and the light that surrounds us and is within everyone we meet. We are all connected through this light of consciousness.

Solstice light is reflected within us and our own power is reflected in the Solstice light.

Below are a few suggestions on how to celebrate the longest day:

☀️ greet the Sun (either at the sunrise or at any point during the longest day)
☀️ take a few moments standing in the Sun, feeling your feet firmly on the ground. Close your eyes and feel the powerful summer Sun shining on you. With each breath, pull the fiery, fierce Sun energy into your body, adding to your own inner fire.
☀️ decorate your home with red, gold and orange colours
☀️ add oak twigs to your altar
☀️ gather flowers and create your own flower crown, connecting to the medicine of the flowers and plants you are using
☀️ paint / bake a Sun

There is a moment between the inhale and the exhale. 🌞

Summer Solstice is that moment.

The year has been breathing in since Midwinter by gathering light, building energy, reaching toward fullness. And now, at Midsummer, we arrive at the top of the breath with the Sun at its peak.
Then, the exhale begins. The slow descent back toward the dark, towards the second half of the year, rich with harvest and depth begins.

I’m so excited to begin introducing more of the beautiful humans I work alongside at Sacred Space, and one of those people is the wonderful Monika.

I’ve known Monika for around six years now, though we’ve worked more closely together over the last two and a half to three years, and honestly, I absolutely love working with her. She is one of those rare people whose presence immediately puts you at ease, warm, deeply grounded, incredibly funny and simply a joy to be around.

Monika is a priestess, sound facilitator and guide through life’s messier thresholds, holding spaces for depth, honesty and becoming.

Her work is rooted in sound, ritual, cyclical living and the wisdom of the body, supporting transformation that feels real rather than performative.

A ceremonialist and threshold walker, she brings lived wisdom to everything she shares. Gongs, ritual, presence and deep listening are woven through her work, alongside a deep respect for the beautifully messy human experience.

Not here for spiritual perfection, but for realness, resonance and depth.

Tree hugger, herb grower, moss enthusiast and lover of the liminal, Monika is probably happiest wandering in the woods with a herbal tea in hand, talking about thresholds, cycles and what it means to truly become.

It feels really special to be welcoming more of her offerings into the studio space, and I honestly cannot wait to continue learning alongside her myself as I begin her year-long sound diploma later this year.

Blessings for a fertile and creative Beltane. 🌿🔥

The eve of the fire festival is here — can you feel it?

Beltane marks the threshold between Spring and Summer, when the Earth's energies are at their most potent and alive. This is the season of fertility, of action, of bringing your ideas, hopes and dreams out of the dreaming and into the doing. And, with being Beltane, there is absolutely some fun involved too. 😄🔥

Here in South Wales the hills are layered in every shade of green, warm with the low golden light of the Sun. Nature's energy is moving outward and upward - growing, becoming, bursting. And if we tune inward, we can feel that same aliveness rising in us too.

This is the gift of walking with the Wheel of the Year. When we observe and connect with Nature's changing landscape, we are given a mirror for our own inner changes. One that is nurturing, grounding and deeply wise. Beltane isn't just a date on the calendar. The shift in energy is happening whether we are aware of it or not. But when we are aware of it, we can move with it rather than against it.

Change is everywhere right now. Nature is growing, moving, becoming. And so are we.
