I remember being curious, and a little cautious, the first time I tried hypnotherapy. Over time I discovered how gentle guidance into a relaxed, focused state can help reframe unhelpful patterns and unlock real change. Whether you’re an adult struggling with anxiety or sleep, or a parent exploring support for a child or teen, hypnotherapy can be a personalised path toward greater confidence and wellbeing.

There's lots of information on my website about how hypnotherapy works, what to expect in a session, and practical tips to get the most from the process. If you’d like a no‑obligation chat to see whether it could help you or your child, you’re very welcome to get in touch. Elaine x

A fabulous evening with FIFE WOMEN IN BUSINESS

I recently had the pleasure of leading a breathwork workshop for fellow members of FIFE WOMEN IN BUSINESS, sharing simple and practical techniques to support relaxation, better sleep, focus, alertness and calm during busy or stressful moments.

The ladies had the opportunity to practice each technique during the session and notice how even a few minutes of intentional breathing could create a real shift in how they felt. It was lovely to hear people describe feeling calmer, more relaxed, more focused and more aware of their breath.

I will be sharing some of their feedback soon.

One of the things I value most about Fife Women in Business is the wealth of experience and knowledge within the group. These regular workshops give members the chance to share their skills with one another in a supportive and friendly environment.

Previous workshops have included i-comment 360 personality profiling, and we are looking forward to upcoming sessions on marketing and first aid. It is a fabulous example of women in business learning from, encouraging and supporting one another.

As a member of FWB and part of the committee, I was delighted to contribute by sharing some of the breathwork tools I use within my work at MindTr!p Hypnotherapy. Thanks to Amanda at Branded by Design in Dunfermline for hosting.

Breathwork can be a simple but powerful addition to everyday life, helping people feel calmer, sleep better, manage anxiety, improve focus and create a little more space during busy days.

Thank you to everyone who came along, joined in and made it such a warm and enjoyable session.

What a fabulous evening spent with the wonderful ladies of Fife Women in Business!
Tonight I had the pleasure of leading a breathwork workshop focused on two things many of us need more of in our lives: energy and calm.

Together we explored simple but powerful breathing techniques to boost focus, motivation and mental clarity, before moving into breathwork practices designed to reduce stress, calm the nervous system and help us feel more in control when life feels busy or overwhelming.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, joined in so wholeheartedly, shared their experiences and gave themselves permission to pause for an hour and focus on their own wellbeing. It was lovely to see so much openness and support within the room.

I'm always amazed by how something as simple as the breath can create such noticeable shifts in how we feel.

Thank you to FIFE WOMEN IN BUSINESS for allowing me to facilitate the session and for creating such a supportive community of women. And thanks to Amanda from the wonderful Branded by Design for the use of her great meeting space for the event.

If you'd like to find out more about breathwork, hypnotherapy, workshops or working with me, I'd love to hear from you.

This morning I had the pleasure of attending the monthly FIFE WOMEN IN BUSINESS networking meeting at the Dean Park Hotel in Kirkcaldy.

What a fabulous way to start the day.

The room was full of positive, supportive women, all coming together to connect, share ideas, celebrate successes and support one another through the challenges that running a business can sometimes bring.

A huge thank you to everyone who was there this morning. It was lovely to meet both members and guests, and to hear about the passion, dedication and expertise that exists within our local business community.

If you've been thinking about attending a networking event but haven't quite taken the plunge, and you're female, this is your sign. You'll find a warm welcome, friendly faces and a genuine desire to help each other succeed.

Here's to collaboration over competition, supporting local businesses, and building each other up.

Who else loves connecting with like-minded people through networking?

What a lovely day at the Dementia Awareness Drop-In Event at Corstorphine Community Centre today.

It was such a warm, welcoming and supportive event, and I really enjoyed being part of it.

My gentle relaxation and breathing sessions were very well received and, for many people, very much needed. It’s always such a reminder of how much people quietly carry with them every day, and how powerful it can be to simply pause, breathe and feel supported for a little while. Thank you to all who attended the sessions, it was lovely to meet you.

It was also lovely to meet Tally from Jaydee Massage Therapies , who was providing hand massages throughout the day, and NW Edinburgh Singing Group who introduced the singing sessions they run for people with dementia and their carers.

There was something really special about being in a room full of people singing songs together like My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean, Heilin Lassie and Daisy Daisy - songs I hadn’t heard in such a long time. There was so much warmth, laughter and connection in the room. And cups of tea and cake. 😊

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising such a fabulous community event.

Did you know that dancing may help reduce the risk of falls as we get older?

A large research review involving over 4,000 older adults found that dance-based movement activities, including ballroom dancing, folk dancing and Tai Chi, were linked with:

- Improved balance
- Better mobility
- Increased lower body strength
- Reduced risk of falls by 37%

Researchers also highlighted something really important: these activities combine movement, focus, rhythm, coordination and social connection, all of which support both physical and emotional wellbeing.

And honestly… this makes so much sense.

When we move in ways that feel enjoyable, expressive and engaging, we’re not just exercising the body. We’re supporting confidence, connection, calmness and quality of life too.

As a hypnotherapist, I often work with people whose confidence in themselves or their body has changed after illness, anxiety, stress, burnout or life transitions.

Sometimes support begins with calming the nervous system.

Sometimes it’s rebuilding confidence and trust in yourself.

Sometimes it’s helping someone feel safe enough to reconnect with life again.

Movement, breathing, relaxation and mind-body approaches can all play a valuable part in that process.

And no… you absolutely do not need to be a “good dancer”.

Because it turns out your body and mind don’t care whether you look like you’re on Strictly… they just want you to keep moving.

Tomorrow I'll be at the Dementia Awareness Drop-In Event at Corstorphine Community Centre and I’m really looking forward to being part of it.

Between 10.30am and 1pm I’ll be offering gentle 20-minute relaxation and breathing sessions.

These sessions are simply a chance to pause for a little while, breathe, relax and have some calm space just for you. We’ll use very gentle breathing and grounding techniques to help settle tension, quiet busy minds and create a greater sense of calm and steadiness. People will also be able to take away simple tools they can continue using at home afterwards.

It will be a really warm and supportive event with lots of lovely local people and organisations involved.

Everyone is very welcome.
