Will my children be okay?
For many parents, this is the question that never fully goes away.
Not because something is wrong today.
But because the future feels harder to trust than it once did.
Rising living costs. Housing. Healthcare. Climate concerns. Wars. The feeling that the world your children are growing into may be more uncertain than the one you grew up expecting.
This kind of anxiety is rarely talked about openly. Yet I hear it often in therapy.
In my latest article, I explore:
• why this fear feels different from everyday parental worry
• what prolonged uncertainty does to the nervous system
• why reassurance often doesn't work
• and what actually helps when there are no simple answers.
Sometimes the goal isn't to stop worrying.
Sometimes it's to understand why your mind and body are responding this way, and to carry that weight a little differently.
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Does this resonate with your experience as a parent or grandparent?
Six in ten British adults don't believe their children will have a better future. If you carry this fear quietly about the world, the cost of living, the wars — this is for you.
