🚨 12 lives lost in just one week. 🚨

The hot weather is here, but our inland waters are still freezing. With a tragic surge in water-related fatalities across the UK over the last few days, we urgently need to talk about open water safety and the very real danger of Cold Water Shock.

You don't have to be planning a swim to be at risk—almost half of all accidental drownings happen to people who never intended to enter the water in the first place.

Please take a moment to read and share this critical, life-saving advice from the RNLI and the Fire and Rescue Service before heading out this weekend:

✅ How to survive Cold Water Shock using the "Float to Live" technique.
✅ The hidden, lethal dangers of inland reservoirs and quarries.
✅ Why you should never jump in to save someone (and the "Phone, Float, Throw" protocol you should use instead).

Please read the advice, remember it, and share it with your friends and family. It could genuinely save a life this summer. 👇

🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE: New CPR & Resuscitation Guidelines 2025! 🚨

The Resuscitation Council UK recently released their major updates for 2025 and we have fully implemented these to our training.
Whether you are a healthcare pro or a first-aider, here are the critical changes you need to know to save a life:

👉 Call 999 Earlier: If you find an adult who is unresponsive, call 999 IMMEDIATELY 📞. Do not wait to check their breathing first. Call for help, then assess breathing while you wait.

👉 Infant CPR Update: For babies under 1 year old, the preferred method for chest compressions is now the two-thumb encircling technique (wrapping your hands around the chest and using thumbs) rather than the two-finger technique. 👶

👉 First Aid: A completely new section introduces the DRABCDE approach (Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability, Exposure) to help anyone assess emergency situations systematically.

👉 Lifesaving at Every Age: The guidelines now recommend that CPR education should start for children as young as 4–6 years old! 🏫🧸

Every second counts. Make sure you are up to date! ❤️

All of our courses included these updates, if you are an education setting we also offer specialist courses for children from 4 upwards.

Resuscitation Council UK is saving lives by developing guidelines, influencing policy, delivering courses and supporting cutting-edge research. We’re working towards the day when everyone in the country has the skills to save a life.
