If you told me at 5 PM last night that we’d be standing under blue skies on the beach jumping over a fire, I would’ve laughed.
We started out in pouring rain, but these women? Actual legends. They showed up anyway, trusted the process, and I swear the universe rewarded us because the clouds literally parted for the most magical summer solstice night.
Yoga, fire rituals, letting go of the heavy stuff, way too much good food, and a total sound bath under the open sky.
My heart is so full (and my clothes definitely smell like bonfire smoke, no regrets).
Thank you to every single woman who brought their energy to the circle last night. You are magic. ☀️🌊🔥
Thank you to great team work. And a huge thank you to everyone who attended you are all legends🙏

The Wellness Edit ✨

The conversations around social media restrictions for young people have got me thinking.

Whilst many adults can see the potential benefits, I think it’s important we acknowledge something:

Change is hard.

For today’s teenagers, social media isn’t simply an app.

It’s where friendships are maintained.
It’s where they communicate.
It’s where they feel connected to their world.

So whilst change may ultimately be positive, we can’t ignore the anxiety, uncertainty and resistance many young people will feel in the process.

My biggest question isn’t whether change is coming.

It’s how we support young people through it.

How do we help them build confidence, connection and belonging away from a screen?

How do we support families who are already stretched?

And how do we model the healthy behaviours we hope to see in them?

Perhaps the conversation starts with us.

Looking honestly at our own relationship with technology.
Creating more opportunities for real-world connection.
And remembering that young people learn far more from what we do than what we say.

Why do we practice yoga? Here’s a lovely quote from BKS Iyengar, explaining the changes that begin to happen when you start practicing yoga.

“Practising asana is not a mechanical activity. Each pose is practiced with intent, awareness and accuracy. Practice brings effortlessness to the pose so that in due course, the body comes to rest in the pose with ease. Along with the body, the mind and intelligence also become stable in the pose. However, this state is experienced much later. In the beginning, asana practice is often considered as a physical workout or as body contortions. Needless to say, yogasana-s are far superior to other types of exercise. Not only do they move muscle mass, but they also exercise the internal organs and the endocrine glands. This effect, especially on the endocrine glands, is inherent only in yogasana-s. The objective of yogasana-s is not to merely strengthen the body but also to bring steadiness to it. Daily practice of asana-s bestows health, loosens the body, and pacifies the mind. It brings stability, balance and discipline to the practitioner's life. A yogi does not deride the body, nor does he obsess over his physique. To the yogi, the body is on par with the mind and intelligence and most importantly, it is a vehicle for the soul."

✨The Wellness Edit ✨

If I had to choose one thing that improves wellbeing more than anything else, it would be human connection.

Not yoga.
Not supplements.
Not another morning routine.

Connection.

The feeling of being understood.
Feeling welcomed into a room.
Laughing until your face hurts.
Sharing something difficult and realising you’re not alone.

There is something incredibly healing about being surrounded by people who see you, encourage you and remind you who you are when you’ve forgotten.

And if you’re sitting at home feeling stuck, isolated or unsure where you belong, please don’t give up.

Your people exist.

Maybe it’s a yoga class.
A walking group.
A book club.
Volunteering.
A choir.
A sports club.
A coffee group.

The first step often feels uncomfortable, but the rewards can be life changing.

📖Book recommendation:
Together – Vivek Murthy

A powerful exploration of why connection is essential for our health, happiness and sense of purpose.

Becoming more self-aware is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.

Not because it makes life easier… but because it helps you make sense of your life.

I hear clients, friends and family often blaming situations or people for their unhappiness, frustration or misfortune. And while difficult situations absolutely exist, self-awareness invites us to pause and ask:

“What is this teaching me about myself?”

Not in a self-blaming way.
And not in a way that accepts poor behaviour from others.

But in a way that helps us understand:
our triggers, our patterns, our boundaries, our needs,
our reactions, and the role we play in our own lives.

Because when your perception begins to shift, your power returns.

You stop waiting for the things to change before you feel better. You actually begin to understand yourself more deeply instead.

📖 Book recommendation:
“It Starts with You”

I absolutely loved this book, and have recommended it to many other women. It is a really grounded and empowering reminder that self-leadership, accountability and personal responsibility are often the starting point for real change.

The Wellness Edit ✨

I think a lot of women are calling themselves incapable… when actually they’re just overloaded.

Somewhere along the way we started believing we should be able to carry every role perfectly without consequence.

Career woman.
Carer.
Chef.
Taxi.
Therapist.
Events planner.
Friend.
Partner.
Mother.

It’s no wonder so many women feel overwhelmed.

Maybe wellness isn’t about doing more.
Maybe it’s learning what to let go of without guilt.

📖 Book recommendation:
The Gifts of Imperfection
A powerful reminder that perfectionism and self-worth are not the same thing.
