Today was one of those simple wee Sundays that filled my soul.
I started the day with a visit to the Highland Chocolatier, where I treated myself to six beautiful pralines... for a small fortune 🍫🤣 Every single one of those wee gems was worth it though!! From there, I found a quiet spot beneath a tree overlooking the River Tay. I watched the water, feeling the sun on face & felt the peace of being in a tree by the river.
Then I wandered into one of my favourite bookshops (I do have a few!) & of course, came home with more books. I have a little tradition that every time I buy a new book, I also buy a new bookmark. It is such a small thing, but somehow it makes opening that first page feel like the beginning of a new journey & speaking of new journeys, I have been reflecting on a lot lately.
“The essence of life is transformation”
Nature reminds us of this every single day. The seasons never cling to what was, they simply move into the next chapter. Spring blossoms into summer, summer softens into autumn & winter is a time of hibernation in preparation for new life. We experience that same rhythm within ourselves. We move through the different chapters of our lives, each one shaping us in its own way. We watch our children grow from tiny hands holding ours to adults finding their own paths, often before we have had time to realise how quickly the years have passed.
Transformation does not always have to be dramatic. Sometimes it is found in the smallest moments, choosing peace instead of pressure, learning to let go, setting a boundary, beginning again or simply sitting beneath a tree beside a river with a chocolate in your pocket & a good book to read with nowhere else you need to be.
I have come to believe that transformation asks for four things from us.
Courage to step into the unknown.
Acceptance to let go of what no longer serves us.
Patience to trust the process, even when everything is scary or uncertain.
Faith that we are becoming who we are meant to be.
We spend so much of life chasing the next thing that we sometimes forget to notice who we are quietly becoming along the way.
Sometimes the biggest transformations do not begin with a grand plan. Sometimes they begin with a river, a bookshop, a box of chocolates & giving yourself permission to simply be you!!
Today my simple Sunday reminder is that life is not just about reaching the next destination. It is about noticing the magic that is already here, embracing each season as it come & trusting that every experience is shaping us into the person we are becoming & need to be.
Wherever you are in your own season of transformation, I hope you are being gentle & kind with yourself. The most beautiful changes often happen slowly... just like nature intended. Have a lovely evening all 🍫📚🌳❤️🙏 Llana xx
