“Final Journey into Roucan Loch” is a fitting memorial choice for those who wish their ashes to be laid to rest within the peaceful waters of Roucan Loch. It is often chosen by people with a love of sailing, fishermen and those who wish to return to nature in a serenely beautiful place.

The Journey Urn is beautifully handcrafted from sustainably produced biodegradable paper and wildflowers. Ashes are placed inside for water interment.

Our Funeral Celebrant will conduct a short service for close family from the wooden platform on Roucan Loch, before the Journey Urn is placed in the water, floating briefly before gracefully sinking to its final resting place.

As we celebrated the life of an incredible dad, papa, brother, uncle and friend, with touches of tartan, football shirts and filled with those he loved paying tribute to him, I was honoured to read this poem.

The Parting Glass - a poem and song traditional in it's Scottish and Irish roots, with it's themes of reflection and bittersweet parting.

At the funeral service for a much-loved mum and nana today, just as her family were about to place their cards on the beautiful spray of flowers, a butterfly appeared.

Not only did it appear, but it stayed; gently fluttering low over the ground as we all watched. And no way was it moving until the service began. 💜

Butterflies have long been associated with transformation, rebirth, and the soul's journey. In many cultures, butterflies are believed to carry messages from the spirit world or serve as messengers of hope and renewal.

Whatever your personal belief, the sight of such a persistent butterfly was certainly something that brought a moment of peace, comfort and hope today 🦋
