GP practices across Dumfries and Galloway are moving to a new IT system. In June Canonbie, Dalbeattie, Galloway Hills and Thornhill will make the change. They will be followed in July by Charlotte, Moffat, Mull of Galloway (Drummore), and Solway. As patients maybe aware a new system is being rolled out within Dumfries and Galloway and it’s now getting close for both Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse to have this implemented. Below is a useful information sheet on how it will affect patients within the practice.

***Both sites will have a limited service between 14th-24th July****

If you are due to reorder prescriptions during this time please make sure you have enough to cover this period as we will be unable to issue any prescriptions at all. The prescription line will be switched off around 5pm on the 10th July.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you are unsure about anything during this time.

Today: Our Practice Will Close Early

We’ll be closed from 1pm today, 3rd June, so our team can take part in a Protected Learning Time session.

UPDATE: computers are now back on!

Unexpectedly, we have no computer system this morning therefore unable to give out any appointments. Our IT department is working on the problem, hopefully we will be back up and running soon.

Practice Closure Notice

Our practice will be closed from 1pm on Wednesday 3rd June 2026 for a Protected Learning Time session. We will re-open again at 8am on Thursday 4th June 2026.

We encourage you to plan ahead similar to public holiday closures to ensure you have all medications you require during this period.
