Things I REALLY wish more local mums knew… 🤍

You don’t have to have mum friends before you come.

You don’t have to walk in looking like you’ve got motherhood figured out.

Your toddler does not need to sit beautifully and participate in everything.

Your baby is allowed to cry.

You’re allowed to be late.

You’re allowed to come on your own.

And if you spend half the session following your toddler around while your coffee slowly goes cold…

Congratulations. You’re one of us. 😂

One of the biggest things I want Blossoming Buds to be is somewhere you don’t have to worry about fitting in before you’ve even walked through the door.

Come as you are.

Let them explore.

Have a brew.

And maybe, somewhere along the way, you’ll find some of your people too. 🤍

The years are short… but some of the days are REALLY bloody long. 😂

I don’t want to wish this stage away. I know there’ll come a day when I miss the tiny shoes, the constant snacks, the little hand in mine and even hearing “MUMMMM” 736 times before lunch. 🤍

But there are also days when you’ve done breakfast, CBeebies, toys, books, snacks, more snacks… and look at the clock convinced it must be lunchtime.

10:36am.

Fantastic. 😂

Sometimes you don’t need another activity to set up.

You just need to get out of the house. Let them play. Have a brew. Talk to another grown-up. And let somebody else provide the entertainment for a bit.

You can desperately want time to slow down and occasionally want Tuesday afternoon to hurry itself up.

Both can be true.

Can we normalise this please? 👇

You don’t have to have the perfectly dressed child.

You don’t have to arrive bang on time.

You don’t have to know what you’re doing.

You don’t even have to stay for the whole session.

Sometimes your baby will cry.

Sometimes your toddler will refuse to touch the activity you’ve just paid money for.

Sometimes you’ll spend £7 for them to play with the cardboard box.

That’s parenting. 😂

What’s something your child has done at a baby/toddler group that you thought you’d be judged for?

Little Miss M used to bite other Blossoming Buds attendees leaving me devastated and mortified 🫣😭 but everyone was so lovely and understanding about my little vampire. Glad she’s finally grown out of it now as we are currently contending with another little vampire 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️🥴 send help 🍷
