RESTORATIVE YOGA - the class you didn't know you needed.
The next 3 Thursdays 18:30-19:30 noust.studio
I teach a range of classes and see that most individuals gravitate towards challange (or tapas in our yoga practice). My faster paced, more muscles used, sweatier classes are so often more popular. It's the kind of class that helped me fall in love with the practice too!
But one thing that always stuck me when I only hosted one class and would host a one-off slower class is that after I would look around and always see smiles of deep contentment and hear "I really needed that".
See we don't often chose to slow down, and I totally get it. You're maybe sitting at work, or when you do get time to book a class, you opt for something that will push your heart rate up and "improve" you. But what we often forget is to be able to make the most of the energy we have available to us is that we need to be able to cultivate it.
This doesn't mean busting your butt off at an exercise class, then maximising your effort at work (or at least focusing all those hours to be productive), coming home, making dinner, seeing to kids, and turning on a show or something. It doesn't mean doom scrolling till your eyes finally shut and we enter sleep in a very 'brain still switched on' manner. No, as humans we also need deep rest too, in order to restore the energy we have available to us.
This deep rest is exactly what Restorative Yoga provides, along with long held stretchs to allow you to release deep into your facia. We learn how rest can be productive too and allow ourselves to be lulled into finally letting down.
If you're interested please join us on Thursdays, now from 6:30pm - 7:30pm by booking yourself in at www.picktime.com/sarasanayoga
Let us all practice Brahmachyra, the correct use of energy π
