I'm sitting in Point of Light HQ, fondly referred to as Sheddy McShedface.

My attention was drawn to the painted stones I have received over time.
Two gorgeous lighthouses and the shapeshifting hat swapper.

When working with me, I'm constantly shifting.
Tuning to what you need.

I am all of these things and more.

In fact...the hats are beautifully aligned these days and probably sit in one combined stack.

I like to think of it as a picnic or 🔥 camp fire moment.

Come back to yourself.
Put down the map
Dry your shoes
Eat
Refresh

Check in with yourself.

Breath

Join me at the campfire 🔥
I'll put the kettle on

Sometimes all we need is a little space. 🫷 🫸

Space to think clearly.
Space to process the setback.
Space to choose what’s next.

To be free of pain.
To be free of Emotional turmoil
To escape family rules and expectations
To have our needs met

We can look outwards for the exit.
Ready to run.
Get the way out
Find some ease

And yet
Many, if not all our freedom lies within our hearts
The body does keep the score
It stacks the trauma and emotional upset
It remembers the rules

Have you given yourself permission to let go of what hurts you?
Have you ever sat and truly listened to the hurt, so she is no longer silenced?

Are you ready to make that transformational shift?
Shed what has limited and diminished you and take a deeper breath.
Take up the space that you are here to fill in the world.

The work is inside you.

Time for Inner~Quest

Take the steps towards relief.
I am here to be alongside you.

We are never meant to be alone.

From Winner - Agility for your Heart and Mind

The steps it takes 🐾💜

When we see others achievements.
They can inspire us.
To want that capability to be at Crufts, representing our country or for an elusive clear round.

It doesn't happen all at once.
Each handler
Each dog
Are all unique

It's a decade since I started agility. There are constant changes, new techniques, new skills.

It's not something we swallow whole ☺️
It's the small steps, the foundations, the trust, relationships. Bite sized pieces for human and dog.

The next time you are impressed at a skill.
You are seeing the end product.
There are many micro steps before you see delivery in the ring.

Maybe start thinking small in service of thinking big.
Know what you want and make it bite sized morsels of joy and juiciness ☺️

Are you a stranger in your mirror 🪞?
Do you make room for Self?

During an especially helpful counselling session I was asked, "Do you keep yourself in the picture?"

My answer was no.

Since then it's been a really helpful question to ask.

If I notice myself going quiet or withdrawing.
If I notice I am leaving choices and needs with everyone else.

What about my needs?
What do I want in the here and now?

Sometimes it doesn't matter and sometimes it really does.
Maybe I've started to feel unsafe.
Guilt can play a significant part as well.

Today , I invite you to notice.

Are you keeping yourself in the picture?

I was writing on my Winner - Agility for your Heart and Mind page last night when an idea came to mind.

Give your stiff upper lip a kiss.

You may have been taught from an early age to hide.

Hide grief
Hide disappointment
Hide sadness

In the hiding and diminishing of our experience, the processing and natural flow is also blocked.

Emotions that are hidden stay within us and arise
in unexpected or perhaps familiar ways.

Those emotions wish to have some attention.

Have that cry 😢
Feel the anger.
Experience the disappointment

Be aware of ignoring yourself.
And then choose not to.

Give that stiff upper lip a kiss.
Give yourself a hug
Let it soften.
Let it grieve.

Gentle
Vulnerable
