“But I stretch.”
“I do Pilates.”
“I do yoga.”
I hear this all the time.
And I love all three.
But being flexible doesn’t automatically mean your tissues are moving well.
You can stretch every day and still have a body that feels like it’s constantly bracing.
Shoulders sitting up by your ears.
A jaw you don’t realise you’re clenching.
Shallow breathing that stays mostly in your upper chest.
A ribcage that barely expands.
Skin and tissue that feels difficult to lift and roll.
Sock or clothing marks that seem to hang around.
Legs that feel heavy even though you’re active.
A body that never quite feels like it fully lets go.
These are the things I notice every day through my hands.
Because I’m not only interested in where you feel tight.
I want to know why your body keeps returning there.
How are you breathing?
Where are you bracing?
How much stress are you carrying without even registering it as stress anymore?
How well are your tissues actually gliding?
How freely are you moving through your ribs, diaphragm, abdomen, hips and shoulders?
Sometimes adding another stretch to an already guarded body isn’t the answer.
Sometimes we need to work with the body differently.
Regulate the system.
Release what’s restricting it.
Restore movement.
Then let movement, Pilates, yoga, strength training and everything else you love do their job.
This is the thinking behind AESTHERAPY.
Not chasing one symptom.
Not forcing a body into submission.
Not “snatching” you for 24 hours.
Learning to read the clues your body has been leaving all along.
