SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity) Awareness Month, 1st– 30th June

Each year in the UK, over 4,000 babies are stillborn or die within the first four weeks of life. SANDS provides vital services for anyone affected by baby loss and advocates for improved maternity care. SANDS Awareness Month is a time for national conversation, remembrance, and action, and there are lots of ways to get involved:
-Fundraising events
-Sharing stories and resources on social media
-Wearing the SANDS Awareness ribbon
-Donating to SANDS
-Using these hashtags to help share the message on social media:

Volunteers’ Week, 1st– 7th June

Volunteers’ week is a UK-wide celebration and recognition of the contribution of volunteers across all sectors. Volunteering has a really positive impact on communities, and is a huge part of our society:
-14.2 million people in the UK have formally volunteered at least once a month
-Volunteering added £4.6 billion in productivity gains to the UK economy in 2024
-25 million people in the UK volunteered informally at least once in the year

Pride Month is a joyful display of love, unity, and resilience, with events and activities that promote inclusivity, educate the public, and celebrate the diversity of sexual orientations and gender identities.

Travelling this summer?
If you are going abroad this summer, and think you may need travel vaccinations or advice, please let us know. We need 6 weeks notice before your date of travel in order to arrange an assessment and potential vaccinations. If you give less than 6 weeks notice, you may be asked to attend a private travel clinic.
Once you inform us:
1. Where you are travelling to
2. When you are travelling
3. How long for
You will be added to our travel waiting list. The nurse will look at what vaccinations are recommended (if any), and will get in touch to inform you if needed to book in.
Please note, to be added to our travel waiting list, we require the information from each individual patient who will be travelling.
