If you contact us with any of the symptoms related to your eyes, you will be asked to use MECS service. GPs are not best equipped to deal with eye conditions, opticians are. You will need to ring and book with them first.

Public Service Day, 23rd June

The UN’s Public Service Day:
-Celebrates the value of public service to the community
-Highlights the contribution of public service in development
-Recognises the work of public servants
-Encourages young people to pursue careers in the public sector
To recognise the value of public service, the UN also established an annual competition, the UN Public Service Awards, in 2023, which promotes the role, professionalism and visibility of public service.

With summer holidays approaching, please be aware we need 6 weeks notice before your date of travel if you need a travel assessment. You may be advised to attend a private travel clinic if we do not have enough notice☀️

Travelling this summer?
If you are going abroad this summer, and think you may need travel vaccinations or advice, please let us know. We need 6 weeks notice before your date of travel in order to arrange an assessment and potential vaccinations. If you give less than 6 weeks notice, you may be asked to attend a private travel clinic.
Once you inform us:
1. Where you are travelling to
2. When you are travelling
3. How long for
You will be added to our travel waiting list. The nurse will look at what vaccinations are recommended (if any), and will get in touch to inform you if needed to book in.
Please note, to be added to our travel waiting list, we require the information from each individual patient who will be travelling.

UK Windrush Day, 22nd June

This is a day to recognise and thank the ‘Windrush Generation’, who arrived 75 years ago, and their descendants for the enormous contributions they made to Britain during its recovery from the Second World War and since. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the racism and intolerance the migrants faced due to the colour of their skin, and the devastating effects of the Windrush Scandal, which broke in 2018, when it was discovered that, despite living and working in the UK for decades, many of the Windrush Generation had been told by the Government that they were in the country illegally due to a lack of official paperwork.

Autistic Pride Day 18th June

Autistic Pride Day is led by Autistic people. It is a day to celebrate Autistic identity, share free resources, and create a world where Autistic people are respected, supported, and unapologetically themselves every day of the year.

Autistic Pride Day 2026 makes the statement ‘Noticing is not the same as acting’, and sees the launch of the demand for an Autism Standard. The conversation around autism has never been louder. However, the way funding and hiring decisions are made have not changed, and very few systems measure whether autistic people are actually okay.

National Clean Air Day, 18th June
