Sarah has been supporting a child to build their turn-taking skills using visual supports. By making interactions more predictable and easier to understand. Visual cues help children feel more confident joining in, waiting, responding and sharing attention with others.

Eve has made a Colourful Semantics animal resource for a pupil who loves animals. Colourful Semantics supports sentence structure by visually breaking sentences down into parts like ‘who’, ‘what doing’ and ‘what’. Including this pupils interests increased their motivation, engagement and confidence when learning this new skill 🦎👏

When running Early Language Groups, Natasha always tries to use real objects to support functional vocabulary learning through play.
This morning, the children had so much fun hanging clothes on the washing line while building their lanuage skills through hands-on play 👚 🧦 👗

Becky and Emily recently delivered Lego Therapy training at one of our school partnerships. Staff particularly enjoyed the practical activities and exploring ideas for extending sessions beyond Lego. They shared that the training helped them feel more confident in delivering sessions and supported their understanding of how Lego Therapy can support social communication development. One piece of feedback described the session as ‘brilliant training’! 🧱💬✨

Emily has been supporting a pupil at secondary school with their inferencing and social problem-solving skills. Working through and discussing different scenarios in a safe, supportive space has helped the pupil to build confidence and develop strategies they can use in real-life situations ⭐ 👍

Eve's transition to secondary school group has focused on friendships this week 💚
The children reflected on the qualities that make a good friend and identified all of the individual strengths and qualities they each bring to friendship.
This activity supported the children to recognise and value their own unique ways of communicating and connecting with others as they prepare for their next chapter at secondary school.

Natasha recently delivered a workshop on intensive interaction for teaching staff in a resource provision. The team really enjoyed watching, and reflecting on video examples, sharing ideas and making plans to further develop their own practice. It was a valuable opportunity to learn together and strengthen meaningful communication approaches across the team.
